I've been lurking here off and on since November but since I had my baby I've been so excited to share my experience of NCB and support others that want NCB that I find I can't help commenting on posts so I guess its time I just introduce myself
I'm Becky. I'm a FTM. Had my DD on December 16th vaginally in hospital with no pain meds. I used Hypnobirthing and swear it is what made it possible. I labored most of the day at home and kept waiting for my contractions to get more intense and more painful than I could handle but they never did. (Not that they weren't painful mind you, just that hypno works so well to manage them) When I finally went to the hospital I was already 8 cm and she was born a little less than 3 hours later. I got to have her placed on my chest immediately and breastfed her and held her for almost 2 hours before DH took her to help with her bath. It was the most amazing experience of my life.
Now, I hope that I can support other women who want to have a similar experience. I was told over and over that I couldn't do it because my hospital wasn't supportive of NCB and that I would give in once I felt the pain but I didn't and I think other women need to know that they can do it to and to just ignore those people because if they really care about you they will support you decision or wishes even if they don't think you can do it!
