I saw an ad for Bliss born childbirth classes today and was wondering if anyone here has heard of them and if they are any good. We don't have any local hypnobirthing or hypno babies classes here (closest is an hour and a half away which will not be possible for me to get to with a young child and I need to pick my husband up from work each night) but this class seems to be more local. I have never heard of it, and from the website it appears that the lady offering it around here is the only one is Australia.
Ok, I have to start out by saying I am biased because I am in the process of getting certified as a Hypnobabies instructor...
I just recently heard of Blissborn for the first time. Just looking at the website, it really looks like it is not as comprehensive as Hypnobabies--the live Hypnobabies class is 18+ hours of class time, and Blissborn is only 10 hours. I can't tell from the website how many hypnosis tracks you get to practice with--it just shows six CDs. With the Hypnobabies homestudy, there are six CDs, but each CD has two tracks on it: 10 of which are 30+ min hypnosis tracks, and 2 of which are affirmations tracks. To be fair, though, Blissborn does claim to teach techniques that allow you to enter hypnosis instantly and that allow you to move around while in hypnosis, both of which are lacking from some other childbirth hypnosis programs out there.
Is it really important for you to attend a live class, or do you think the Hypnobabies homestudy might work for you?
A live class will mean I will actually get to take some time out and relax to do it. My hubby works at night and who knows how DS will be when baby two comes along, but right now he does not sleep well, it takes a long time to get him down and I am lucky if he goes down by 8pmand stays down for longer than 30 minutes. A live class may also be problematic if I can't get a baby sitter which is also a likely scenario as I have very few friends here and even fewer who would want to watch a young child. On looking at the local lady again I notice she is also based a 1.5 hr drive away so she may not travel this far up so it may all be for nothing
I'm the co-founder of Blissborn, and I want to thank you for checking into it.
Morna Duggan is our teacher in Australia, and she's just amazing. If you are interested, you can call her and schedule a talk with her, to see the materials and discuss your goals.
As for Blissborn, it's five 10-hour classes, which were designed to fit with your busy schedule. We really focus in on teaching hypnosis skills--hypnosis is simply the perfect state for a peaceful and easy birth. We teach lots and lots of tools in the classes, and you'll be an expert at getting into that state naturally and easily and quickly. You receive six CDs--one for each class (between 20 and 30 minutes each) and one for use in labor. We also include a comprehensive and totally interesting 234-page manual packed with great info about birth, your body and your baby!
The classes are receiving lots of accolades and our results are really great, too--more than four out of five moms give birth naturally in less than five hours.
It's a very high-quality class, and we have a 100% satisfaction rate. Mums and dads love the class and the relaxation.
Feel free to ask me any questions or get together with Morna--there's absolutely no pressure, just answers. Promise!
I wish you a beautiful, peaceful labor and birth!
