I just saw the invite posted over on the March 2013 board, and thought I'd pop over.
I'm about 8 wks along right now. This is pregnancy #6 for me, and (hopefully) baby #3. I have two sons, ages 3 and 18mos, and a history of m/c. Thus far, I have enjoyed easy pregnancies and relatively quick labors.
Ds1 was born at home after eight hours of labor. He was induced. I had been dilating significantly for two weeks, so the mw had me go to an ob for advice. Based on a u/s, it was estimated that ds would be born at about 9.5lbs. That ob does not allow babies over 9 lbs to be born vaginally, so we induced me at home before the ob could pull that trigger. Shows what he knows! Ds1 weighed 10lb 10oz at birth, and I only had 7 stitches to show for it!
Ds2 was born almost at home, because I REALLY did not want to go to the hospital. We had a hospital birth with him only because we couldn't afford to pay a mw up front. His labor was 4 hours, and he weighed in at 9lb 5oz. I transitioned in the car with him, and was at 9cm when we got me to L+D.
I love how powerful natural birth makes me feel, and I can't wait to do it again! This time, I have a mw I love, and we're planning another homebirth. However, I am waiting to have my first appt with her until I have an u/s (in 10 days!) to confirm the pregnancy.

Congrats and welcome! Your 2nd birth sounded really tough transitioning in the car! I hope this 3rd birth works out how you want it to.
