Hi, ladies!

Trying to get back to pg.org after a moderate absence...I had a lodge in July 2010 with my DD and now I'm expecting again! (due 10/15/13) Since I've reached 12 weeks and we just went public, I'm feeling ready to jump back in over here. I swear the BN board is half the reason I made it through my very long NCB last time, so I'm looking forward to reading everyone's lodges and getting back in that good birthing frame of mind again Smile

I'm currently at the same Birth Center where I had my daughter, although they moved to a bigger and more well-appointed (though slightly less homey) facility in the meantime. But hey...a great birthing tub in every room, instead of having to fight for the one big one? I'll take it Wink All's well so far--had a great, strong heartbeat at my check last week (160-165...think my daughter's right that it's a girl??) and I'm feeling appropriately awful, although hoping the end of that is in sight...

Anyway, hello!

Yay Leigh, good to see you back on here! A birthing tub in every room sounds great! My hospital only has a couple rooms with hook up for their tub and I think they only have one tub. I'm hoping I will be able to do most of my labor at home again like last time so I won't miss the tub if it isn't available.

I've heard lots of good things about the birthing tubs, thought it's not an option for me this time. That birthing center sounds nice though. Not sure about the heartbeat. My DSs was always around 150-160, but the little girl in my tummy's hb is always in the 140s.

Hello!! Yay 12 weeks and for birthing tubs!
All 3 of my girls had heartrates around 150's to 160's, though I have heard that the heartrate thing is most accurate right before birth.

Welcome back! Yay for more tubs! This is the first time our birthing center has tubs in both rooms as well and the back room has a shower too so I'll probably be back there unless it's taken. Which is happy and sad because I won't be delivering baby in the same room as my second.
My boy's hr was always in the 140s and my girl's in the 150-160s. This one is usually in the 140s too so we'll see whether it's a boy or not in a couple weeks!!
And I've also heard it's not accurate until after 20 weeks.

I know the heartbeat thing is mostly an old wives tale but it's fun to guess Smile My daughter is 100% certain it's a sister, so we'll see how good her intuition is, I guess Smile

I was in and out of the water a lot last time and ended up actually giving birth on the bed, but it's definitely relaxing to know I have the option!

My first boy was always in the 140's. My second boy was always around 140's-150's. My third boy however stayed up in the 160's until about 18 weeks and then slowly dropped down to the 140's. I thought for sure he was going to be a girl.

I am excited for you and can't wait to follow another one of your births!

Hi Leigh! Good to see you on preg.org again! Wink

I'm guessing it's a girl too, not because of HB but because Addy thinks it is! I swear kids just know things like that! Smile

Lol, kids do have a way of being certain, it will be fun to see if she is right! There is another lady at my church who is due the week before me. She has a little boy and he is dead certain he is having a sister and has a name picked out for her! The mom didn't find out the gender, but she thinks it is another boy. Will be interesting to see who is right!

Glad to hear it, Amanda! Biggrin

We never claimed to be 100% sure we were done, but for a long time it was like 90%. Then (fortunately, at the same time!) our yes/no feeling kept slipping until we were more like 50/50. So we just decided if we were so clearly moving in that direction we'd better just do it, since if we had two we didn't want them to be TOO far apart. (We didn't want two in diapers/not sleeping at the same time either, so I think this 3y3m spread will be just about perfect for us).

We are most definitely two and done, but decided our family just needed a little more spice Wink

I lurk enough around pg.org that I remember your lodge with your daughter. Congratulations on expecting #2! Smile

I hope you are feeling better now after a few more weeks into it. Will you be finding out the sex at your anatomy u/s...well, guess I should ask are you having an anatomy u/s? I look forward to following you this pregnancy. Smile

I remember you too from around pg.org Smile

I'm feeling much better now...not completely out of the woods, but I can see the road Wink HECK YES I will be finding out the gender...it's pretty much all I can think about! I actually don't care at all one way or another what it is, I just want to KNOW! May 24th...

Ooo, just a month away! I'm always so excited to get to that point b/c it's around halfway and it usually takes me that long to get past the nausea and ickiness. Then, of course, usually feeling the baby move at that point too. Smile

I'm actually feeling a ton of early flutters (you know, the "That was totally the baby! ...right? I'm pretty sure that was definitely the baby..." kind the past couple of days, so that's been exciting Smile Have a checkup today, which I am thrilled about...just love hearing that reassuring little heartbeat! Especially before the movement is really regular and sure.

Just adding in that 3y 3m is a fantastic age gap. Same as my two boys.
