Hypnobabies is expensive!

I just went to their site and it's $139!!!!! Does anyone here have a self-study course that they are no longer using and are willing to sell, rent or lend to me? After reading up on the process, I do not have much time left and need to get started in the next few weeks.

I am really looking forward to trying this but with DH already wary of how much more it is going to cost us to hire a doula or switch hospitals, I need to keep it as low-cost as possible.

Maybe check your library! I checked ours, and though it doesn't have Hypnobabies, it has Hypnobirthing available. Worth a shot...

Good idea! I checked craigslist, but no one is selling a kit right now. I did find some 6th editions on ebay for around $90 with free shipping and older editions for $50.

Honestly, it's worth every penny and more (waaaay cheaper than an epidural). Wink If it's beyond your budget, you can call Hypnobabies to see if they have any used home study sets. They buy sets back from moms who are done, make sure everything is there and operating correctly, and sell them back at cost to moms who need a discount. 714 952-2229 Buying used elsewhere can be risky since some people are selling incomplete sets or sets that aren't even really Hypnobabies.

and if you do it through Hypnobabies, you get a new set of all of the handouts--which you may not get if you buy it elsewhere because the person may have written on or lost them

ditto what the other ladies have said. It is worth every penny and MUCH cheaper than taking a birthing class in-person.

Not necessarily--my in-person Hypnobirthing class including all the materials was $100. But I do agree with the "worth every penny!" Biggrin

My birth class was about $40, but not very helpful. I think something more extensive like a Bradley class is about $200 and requires a lot of time which we do not have.
