    Default Introduction

Can I join you?? I'm just about at 30 weeks and have more seriously been researching birthing options and have definitely decided to go the natural way. I've been seeing a midwife throughout my entire pregnancy with my DH being extremely reluctant. Now that I've shown him a few documentaries (The Business of Being Born & Orgasmic Birth) and had him attending birthing classes with our doula, he's completely on board with the whole thing!

I'm loving the idea of hearing your stories and having your support in all of this. My first birth was in a hospital and not so great. I was fighting every contrax, the lights were on, it was crazy with people in and out, DH was begging me to get an epi... In the end I didn't want to hold my son for the first 2 days - had a hard time bonding

We are both expecting quite a different experience this time. I've been on pg.org since 2004 and know a lot of you already - thanks for letting me in!

Welcome! Good to see you over here! You are already on a good start! The way I prepared last time was reading tons and tons and tons of positive birth stories. Have you read "Ina May's Guide to Childbirth" yet? It was the book that changed my entire perspective and made me switch from a traditional OB office to a free standing birth center with a midwife at 20 weeks with DS! The first part of the book is a lot of birth stories. The second part is by Ina May Gaskin and is an easy read.
