    Default Longest I have went....

...with out getting pregnant since I got married! lol. Seriously though, my little peanut will be 17 months old next month so this makes it the longest I have went without getting pregnant since I got married. I am getting anxious to just be done having kids though. I want one more and then I will be done. DH says no sooner then the end of next year though so we will be waiting. We need a bigger vehicle so we would need to wait anyway, but we just paid off our truck so we essentially could afford a bigger vehicle, Absolutely no mini van though, but we are wanting to just keep finances freed up for a little longer before tying them up with another vehicle payment. I see DH's logic in waiting but man, I just want to have the last baby and then be done. But I will resist and wait till next year. I know it will be for the best.

Wow. Good luck. Maybe DH will come around or you'll get a surprise baby!

Now you've got me curious about my longest. Let's see, going by conception dates...
8m between marriage and DS1's conception
    11.5m between DS1's birth and DS2's conception
12m (exactly) between DS2's birth and DS3's conception
14m (exactly) between DS3's birth and pregnancy #4
    3.5m between m/c and pregnancy #5
2m between m/c and this pregnancy.
so, I guess 14m is my longest gap. Wow.

    little boy 4.26.11 @ 38+4 6lbs 14oz, 19.5" BFed until 26mo and again 30-37mo

Wow, you guys are serious baby makers! My one and only gap is 2.5 years. I didn't want to even consider it any sooner...having a bigger gap has its pros! I'm glad that you're at least on the same page about number of kids, if not quite the timing.

lol. I like my 19 month gap between #1 and #2. But I don't think I could do it again. My body was really stressed with the last pregnancy. Not to mention do to the hard pushing with #3 my uterus tried to prolapse and then #3 was a hard baby for the first year, yeah I knew I needed a bigger gap for emotional, mental, and physical healing. DH told me he wouldn't be bothered one bit to have a 5+year gap between #3 and #4. I told him absolutely not, I do not want a caboose baby. He thinks it would be fun but I don't want to get that far out of the baby phase just to go through it again. He thinks he is just effected by the baby stage as I am but he has NO idea!

I want to still be younger when the kids will be old enough that DH and I can take longer vacations just the two of us. I haven't even been gone for a full 12 hours with my DH since we have had kids. No one will watch our kids for that long, not that my boys are hard, because they are actually fairly easy kids, but no one can or is willing to. I think I could hold out until the end of next year but I told DH that I will not wait any longer then that. Unless something drastically changes my mind. My mind secretly hopes I have a surprise baby before that but unlikely since I have the UID.

When ever the time does come I am so excited to do another home birth. I think, at this point, that is one of the things I look forward to the most is doing another home birth.

I hope you're able to talk DH around. I've never liked the idea of a caboose baby, either.

I totally agree with that! No cabooses for me either...part of the whole idea of having another was to have siblings...much more than 4 years and I think the stages are just too different until they're adults (not to mention having to go back to babyhood all over again after being away from it for SO long). I'm extremely happy with our just-over-3-year spacing, personally...I think they'll be close enough to actually interact and get something out of it, but far enough apart that I don't have two babies at once. For our family, that's just right.

I like the 3 year gap between my DD1 and DD2. DH and I have talked about not wanting #4 (if we have a #4) to be more than 3 years. This 4 year gap seems so long and I really feel like I'm starting all over again as a first time mom to a newborn. I feel so out of practice and a little unprepared.
I'm also glad to hear you and DH are on the same page with having more even if the timing isn't your ideal.

Ditto!!! (This is also why I'm strongly urging my DH to consider a V after this kiddo comes out. We are 100% sure we're done, and don't want any surprises. I know too many failed IUD babies and stories to feel completely comfortable with it as my only barrier at this point! It was fine while we just had one kid and hadn't quite decided on #2 yet, but we are D-O-N-E after this one, so...I don't want to take any chances. (Yes, I have heard the stories about kids after vasectomies, too, but usually that's from not waiting long enough for the system to clear...I don't plan on that! )
