Went WONDERFUL!! It was so comfortable. She even had my LO sitting on her lap drawing on a piece of paper while she took notes. It lasted about 2 hours. And the great thing is that the group of MWs that I would have seen at the hospital if she didn't take me as an HBAC has decided to formally provide back-up for home-births here. So we don't have to fight or stay quiet. My first appointment with them is in about a month.
She gave me so much great information and was very thorough in her questions of my history.
In a nutshell: No AROM, no prenatal cervical checks, she will carry on with the HBAC +/- 3 weeks gestation, if I go post dates we start monitoring/NST and then decide from there, prescription for pitocin in case of hemorrhage (sp?), she would stay with me if I transfer if that is what I desire, she gives $200 discount for having a doula, she has worked with the doula I have been speaking with, she only takes 2 births a month, and she has an apprentice working with her as well.
As for the important stuff, I had no protein, ketones, or sugar in my urine. She thinks baby is posterior but he is turning back and forth so I'm not worried about that. He is head down. Blood pressure was 116/76, and I am measuring a little ahead. Based on my LMP and measurements, she thinks my due date is more accurately 9/2/10 instead of 9/7/10... they tried to bump it up before but I kept the 7th in case I got stuck in a date game with my OB and/or the hospital.
UHHHH!!! Such a relief... and I am so happy![]()

Ohhhh a total relief!! and I like that she has such an easy relationship with the back-up practice so that if I need NST or additional monitoring, I don't have to be deceptive about why. She also said it isn't automatic induction if I get to 3 weeks past, but we would see what the tests are revealing and then go from there. I honestly don't worry about going past due... I'm more worried about going earlier than 37 weeks. I'll be between 32 and 33 weeks when DH deploys and I am really worried that the stress will take it's toll, especially since I have already had the issues with slight funneling and such.
