He now weighs 12 lbs 10 oz and is 24 and 1/2 inches! (he was 7 lbs 8 oz at birth and I think he was 8 lbs 9 oz at his 2 week visit). He is getting so big! We had DD's 2 year visit at the same time and I didn't see her weight and height (DH came with us and he took her to the scale while I took DS back to the room and started getting him undressed. She is close to average on the charts at this point, though, so that's really good.
Dr. J gave us a prescription for a cream for DD's excema and I think we'll try that to see if we can get it cleared up and then try to maintain it with liberal application of aquaphor.
I have been not sure what to do about the vaccines for DS for a while now. I believe in vaccination, but I'm not totally sure able the "recommended" schedule. We declined the first Hep B in the hospital and I am pretty sure I want to wait a bit to do that one (I'm thinking we can do the 3 shots at 9, 12, and 18 mo or something like that). I was considering splitting the vaccines normally given at 2, 4, 6 and doing extra "shot only" visits, but after doing a little more research last night and praying about it, I decided to go ahead and follow the schedule for him for everything except Hep B and Chickenpox (both shots that I don't feel really need to be given as young as they are). Turns out the office ran out of the Pc vaccine and they do the combo shot for DTaP/IPV/HIB, so he had just one injection and the oral rotavirus vaccine and he did great. DD finished her Hep A series and got her 4th HIB (she missed that dose because there was a shortage). She also did awesome! So, she has everything except her chickpox now.
