Pretty (un)shocking, inappropriate, and downright disrespectful things medical professionals say to their OB/GYN patients.

yeah, I'm subscribed to it on my blogger reading list. If you see any comments from "Birth Unplugged," that's me

Mindie, did you see the one about scheduling a tubal? I found that one really offensive. And a while ago, there was "I had to cut an episiotomy for the placenta"...

Yep, I wonder what Dr. God would think about me, Mrs Grand Multigravida, Multiparous soon to be Grand Multiparous?

And that must have been one huge, bone-filled placenta. Also, wasn't the descriptive word "disgusting" in that post?

That just gets me all pissed. Not so much b/c of what the doctors/nurses believe to be best, but b/c of the way they speak to their patients. There are much more tactful and respectful ways to communicate.

yeah, I thought you'd understand how inappropriate that one was

and there was a different one where an OB called a placenta "disgusting"

no, but I found a very similar one in the archives...I wonder if she and I had the same OB? I later submitted a few other gems from that OB, but haven't gotten notification that any of the submissions were accepted.

I submitted mine about the OB saying "when you're bleeding to death is a really bad time to place an IV" but never heard from them either.

Apparently they have a pretty big back log of stupid comments.
