    Default ordered my hypnobabies!

last night i finally ordered my hypnobabies home course! i'm excited to start preparing for the unmedicated birth i want this time. i've read several books from the library that have been helpful, but i feel like i need more structured practice in relaxing my mind.

is there a track that helps your mind block out nay-sayers? because DH still thinks i'm crazy.

There is quite a bit about blocking out negative comments. I loved doing hypnobabies- it was wonderful!

Very exciting! And yes, there is one specifically (bubble of peace) that talks about how to respond to nay-say'ers & all the negativity that society creates in regards to pregnancy & childbirth.

Good luck with your Hypnobabies! If you have any questions we have a few Hypnobabies Instructors who are regular posters here--I am one of them! And yes, learning how to block out negativity is a big part of Hypnobabies! The Bubble of Peace is an excellent tool!

    Yay for getting your Hypnobabies!
I had DH listen to mine a few times to get him better on board.

Where do you order your home course from? and how much was it?

I have the book (which I LOVED - I have read it twice now), but when I look for courses in my area, they are very limited. Most people I talk to, are nay-sayers. Women who have given birth have told me how niave I am. Woman who haven't given birth tell me it's going to hurt like h*ll..the only people that like the sound of it and are supportive, ironically are single men LOL...

Jessica Alba said it best ( I saw her interview on the view which sparked my interest in Hypnobirthing) "To each their own. What was right your one pregnancy may not be right for another, eaach woman has to do what she has to do" and I loved that. I have used it a few times myself, and no one has anything really to say to that.

i ordered it on amazon. it's kinda pricey...$145. there is a hypnobirthing course offered in our city, but it's $160 and DH wouldn't want to go with me, and would miss more than half the classes anyway due to his work schedule, plus we'd have to pay a babysitter, etc. so i decided the home course was the way to go and if it helps me have the birth i want, then it's worth every penny!

i've read the mongan method hypnobirthing book, too, 'cause our library had it, and it made a lot of sense to me, but didn't really teach me the skills to do it on my own. seems like it's more of just a supplement to taking the classes. i also liked "mind over labor" (another library book) but again, it was more of just a brief introduction to the concepts, and i need to practice, release some fears from my previous birth experience, and develop more confidence that i can do this.

and i hear ya about people being skeptical or critical of this approach. i haven't even told any of my friends in real life because i know they would all look at me like i've grown three heads or try to talk me out of it. i'm really close to my sister...she's my best friend, and i'm not even sure i can tell her what i'm planning because i don't want to hear her response (she did scheduled inductions and epidurals with all three of her births). i am planning to talk to my mom (she gave birth naturally three times with lamaze) and one of my friends from church who has had two natural births, the most recent one at home. everyone else can just butt out!

Thank you. I found it I am going to order it

Here the courses are $500. One lady only offers it over the weekend, even though I have read elsewhere it takes the whole 5 weeks. (Plus she wants you to bring potluck.. I thought for that price shouldn't food be included?? LOL)

Hubby is still on the fence about it. Not sure if he is even going to be in the delivery room. says he's scared to be. I told him I won't force him to be somewhere he doesn't want to be, and he hasn't let me know wither way what his plans are, so I am planning to do this myself (I don't want to wait until he decides to 'come around')
