That is a little stressful right before you are supposed to be flying. Hoping its just watery CM like what has been mentioned. KUP on what you find out.

Audra, I thought about posting on our BB to ask if anyone else had had a sudden shift in CM. I never had this with Beni... but I do recall plenty of women saying they had to wear some kind of pad during pregnancy because of how heavy the CM can be...so I guess maybe this is what they were talking about! Anyway, I'm totally reassured by the fact that you're having this as well. I think it really just caught me off-guard, and I jumped to the worst case scenario...I'm just not used to a sensation of having peed my pants!
I will go see the doc anyway tomorrow, and hopefully I'll be able to let you know that it's nothing!

Both times I got very watery toward the end. Perfectly normal. Have a good trip home!

Rest in peace, Martin.
OK...just back from the doctor...
So good news is that I'm not leaking... she had the ultrasound tech come in and give me a quick check for cervical length and fluid and he said everything looked PERFECT. I didn't get to see baby at all (apparently this guy is good at what he does, but he is the least patient friendly ultrasound tech I've ever met!), but, of course I'm just happy that everything looks good.
The only bad news, is that this baby is also a trickster, and is actually breech. Now I know it's super early to get upset about it, but after all the stress I went through last time with getting Beni to turn around and then having to have the version, I was just really excited when I thought I had a head down baby that I just had to KEEP head down... instead of a breech baby, that I still needed to get to turn. Sigh. We were just talking about baby/belly mapping on my BB, and I said how I am NO GOOD at it- but that I was sure this baby was head down because of where I was feeling hiccups. My doula always says, "butts don't hiccup!" So either this baby seriously flipped during my appt (because I thought I felt hiccups when I was in the waiting room) or I'm growing a drummer who is incredibly good at rhythmic kicking. I don't know.
I'm very anxious to meet my midwife hopefully next week, and to talk to her about all of this... I don't know if she delivers babies that she knows are breech ahead of time...I also don't know if she can do versions, or has a back-up OB that could....no idea- or what her policy is on a baby that is thought to be head down, but presents breech during labor. And I'm trying not to fixate on all that- and just will keep doing all the stuff I can do to get this baby head down on his/her own. Thank goodness I got my referral to go to the chiropractor- at least hopefully he can try to help as well. Anyway...thanks for all the support ladies!

Yay! I'm so glad you aren't leaking! What a huge relief.
I seriously wouldn't worry too much about baby being breech right now. There's still a lot of room in there to flip around at this point and baby could be changing positions pretty regularly. I do think it's a great topic to bring up with your midwife on the off chance that baby is still breech down the road.
I agree with this completely. Mine was still breech at 29 weeks, but by 32 she was head down. And didn't somebody's on here just flip at 37? Definitely a good topic for discussion just for preparation and peace of mind, especially given your history, but it's definitely much too early to worry (I know, easier said than done.) As for baby mapping....omg I was HORRIBLE at it. I was totally convinced that mine kept flipping breech throughout my third trimester, and every time the MW checked me, she said "No, she's head down--here, feel this? That's her head." And I would feel it, and it would feel just like a head, and I'd be relieved. Then I'd try it at home and I couldn't feel it at all and I would panic again.
YAY about not leaking, though! A relief to be sure.
Phew, what a relief to not be leaking! One less thing to worry about durin your flight back home.
Sorry about the breech stuff, still lots of time for turning so try not to stress.

Yay for not leaking ... amniotic fluid that is. I had to wear panty liners during most of my third trimester or it seriously looked like I'd peed myself.
I know its hard given your history but please don't stress about baby being breech! He/she is still able to do all sorts of backflips and craziness in there. No need to worry at all. However, its never too early to start practicing good baby-positioning postures and bouncy on a birth ball. I was always able to tell exactly how DD was positioned based on feeling my belly (my MW was actually quite impressed by my accuracy) but hiccups never told me anything. I swear my DDs butt hiccuped. Or maybe she was tooting ... Can they toot???
That's what I said to the doc yesterday, Erin, about the tooting. She laughed at me. I don't think they toot in utero.![]()
