hi ladies!
i feel like i know many of you since i've lurked/actively posted over the last four years, but you might not remember meas i get closer to my due date, i know i'll be interested in posting more and wanted to re-introduce myself!
i'm katherine and this is baby #3 for us. we were hoping to get pregnant when it happened, but i don't think i was as emotionally ready as i thought! DS just turned 4 and DD turned 2 in august, and i'm feeling a little overwhelmed with all they still require. i know some women have kids even closer together, but wow -- the idea of adding a newborn feel crazybut, we're thrilled nonetheless!!
baby is a boy and "officially" due 12/31 -- though i was watching fertility signs and put the due date closer to 1/2. we're really hoping he cooperates and gets us the tax break!
DS and DD were born in a birth center in another state. our new state has one birth center -- about four hours awaywe're not in a position to be comfortable with home birth, but i found a mw i really like and the hospital she delivers at is FABULOUS (to the extent that they really follow your practitioner's lead with L&D care, encourage NCB, don't have a nursery and "require" rooming-in...though you could send your babe to the NICU for a short time if you preferred). so, this will be the first time i've ever personally stayed in a hospital. kinda looking forward to the postpartum stay, as weird as that sounds!

so that was a longer intro than i'd planned, but there it is! i've learned so much from you ladies and am excited to "journey" with you in your lodges and as we get closer to meeting our little guy!
Hi, Katherine. I could have written the part about wanting to get pregnant but then realizing you weren't as emotionally ready as you thought, except that my kids are younger--DD will be 4 in Feb and DS will be 2 in March! I'm glad you like your midwife and your hospital. Both of the hospitals in my area do not have nurseries, either. I like that about them.

welcome! congrats on #3 and YAY in just a few short weeks we'll all have another lodge to stalk. i totally understand the hospital thing, i love my hosp and am really looking forward to a night or two with just me and baby. the boys will be with their gparents who they adore and i know they are in good hands. it's a super nice hosp. and very comfy, room in the whole time and nurses who are very caring. so, your not alone when you say you look foward to your hosp. stay.

Welcome back Katherine! I'm so excited for you and your LO on his way! Do you post in January's birth board? I only ask because I haven't seen you in December's at all. That's so great that you found an amazing MW and are getting to deliver in a hospital that is willing to go along with your choice of birth. I'm looking forward to following your story!

thanks for the welcome!
kristen, i'm glad i'm not alone! i hear so many women talk about how they just want to be in their own beds, but i kinda feel like it will be a mini vacation. we don't have cable, so i'll be able to watch tv while i BF, not have anyone to worry about except the little one, someone else cooking my meals (which i hear are pretty good at this hosp) and taking care of my "laundry."ahhh...i'll probably be itching to get out, but for now it seems like a dream!
krystal, i don't really post on either BB. i did lurk for awhile, but i have both kids at home full-time (neither go to preschool or anything), so i'm generally pretty busy during the day. its amazing how much energy two preschoolers require!
