RRL

I was wondering if taking the RRL tincture was the same as the tea? I just can't handle drinking tea right now in the heat. I only ever hear about the tea so I was uncertain if anyone's done just the tincture.

TIA

I've never done the tincture but I was tempted to. I just drank tea but it was in February when it's nice and cold. From what i've heard it's the same thing. It can run a little stronger than the tea but it d=has the exact same function. Ice tea works good too.

I also made my RRL into iced tea. I made it by the gallon & kept it in the fridge. The tincture is going to do the same thing as the tea, but it tastes like hell! I've seen a RRL tincture that is flavored with vanilla, but I doubt that would help much. I'd just stick with making iced tea.

Make it the regular way and put ice in it...

My midwife's "recipe" was 1 ounce of dried RRL steeped in one quart of boiling water for four hours. This made about a pint of a very strong infusion, which I was to drink every day. What I did instead was put 4 ounces into a half-gallon glass container, fill it with boiling water, and let it sit overnight. Next morning, I would strain it into a gallon-sized container & add cold water & ice to fill it. The tea would be cold & not too strong to enjoy straight. It would last me 3 or 4 days.

I don't find the tincture tastes that bad and its alot easier for me to do one swallow of the tincture than several cups of tea.. and I'm not big on ice tea either.

I use the tincture mixed in OJ and did so with my last baby as well. It worked great! I was also able to take a big shot of it when in labor and it really helped speed up my labor.
