I have been doing very well managing my GD and I have you girls to thank for that. Thanks to all of your links and helpful tips I am actually doing it!!! I had to cut out just about anything with all purpose flour and stick to whole grains. I'm paying more attention to where something falls on the glycemic index and I've upped my protein levels. Lovin the peanut butter chocolate whey protein shakes I keep my fiber levels up also and that helps combat the GI issues that protein brings on!
Their one-size-fits-all diet does not work for me, I've had to modify it, and they really didn't touch on a lot of the tips you girls gave me. I'm really surprised anyone is able to control it with the little information they give and the generic diet they recommend. It's still not fun, but it's great knowing I'm doing it without unnecessary medicine. I see the wicked specialist this Wednesday and I'm going armed with information and I plan to tell her just what I think of her scare the pants of a pregnant woman approach!!! DH is going with me to the appointment even though he will likely crawl under the table when I start in, he usually does, he's an extremely non-confrontational person.
