I'm not sure I've ever been quite this sick while pregnant. I have the works: body aches, low grade fever, congestion, nasty cough, laryngitis. My little one had pneumonia recently, and my oldest bronchitis, and the others all have colds, so it's totally going around our house, and mama feels like doo doo. I hate to take Tylenol around the clock, but that's what I've been doing because I'm so miserable with the achiness, etc. Advice?

((HUGS)) mama! I got sick like that when I was pg with Lexi, and it sucked. I'm so sorry. The worst part was that every time I had a coughing fit, I peed my pants!
We like GoodBelly to give our system a immune boost. For congestion, a good nasal rinse every 4 hours or so. Hot tea for the throat....
I'm so sorry you are sick. Hope ya'll are on the mend soon.
Bummer about being so sick right now. I was sick like that earlier during this pregnancy and all I could do was sleep. Easier said than done with a house full of kids.
I also did tea and a neti pot for a little congestion release. Try mixing some honey and lemon juice together (like 50/50 and just enough for a little shot of it) to help coat your throat and lessen the cough. But really, if you can, get tons of extra sleep for the day while someone else watches the kids. That will at least help with the body aches and fever.

My DH swears that gargling with a bit of whiskey is The Best Thing for a sore throat. I've never tried it, especially when preggo because gargling *anything* triggered a choking reflex for me. I do like honey & lemon juice together to coat the throat, and some chamomile tea will help control your cough. Vicks Rub for congestion, hot pad or rice sack for aching parts. Also, at this point in your pregnancy, some Sudafed or Robitussin (plain or DM, nothing else) are safe to use if you're feeling like the natural stuff isn't do the job. And be sure to drink plenty of fluids, you don't want to add dehydration to illness! Feel better!

Rest in peace, Martin.
licorice root tea does wonders for nighttime coughing in our house...even toddlers can drink it, and they usually will 'cause it tastes sweet. and i think tylenol is fine for the body aches and fever. better to keep those symptoms under control than avoid meds altogether, IMO. so sorry you're sick and hope you feel better really soon!!

When Dh and I got sick this month, I cut up onions and put them in thekitchen and bedroom (or rroms where you are the most). It smells, but, the onion with attrack and soak up the bacteria in the house. We had the humidifer on all day and drank Lot sof tea na date lots of soup. We were better much faster than most of our friends who had the same bug.
Hope you feel better soon!
