Default Speaking of the Worst OB Ever...

Of course, after the post on my blog where I used the site MyOBsaidWHAT?!? as an example of how natural birth advocates can be negative and bigoted, four submissions I sent there were published. Here are the links to the quotes, the first four are from the OB I saw while pregnant with my DD, and the fourth is a nurse at the hospital from after my DD was born.

That "refusing induction" one is particularly atrocious. My goodness!

I LOVE that blog! Some of the things that have been posted are really out there, hey?

Oh, and Thoughtful Thursdays are my fave.

It's cool they posted yours! I have some submitted as well, but haven't heard back yet.

I think I am going to link your blog on my site. I love your insight!

half of those made me want to vomit on the speaker, or better yet, deck him or her. then there were the awesome ones thrown in to give us all faith in humanity, i think i read for like 9 pages of those.

i cannot believe that those professionals actually believe the crap that comes out of their mouths!

I love that website, but it ticks me off to no end. I still can't believe that they use death of your child as a scare tactic

BTW, how big is your husband?

my DH is 6'5" (he likes to weigh himself when he goes to prenatal appts with me, because smaller scales don't read that high) and weighs nearly 400 lbs. but nobody believes he weighs that much, he looks like he could play pro football... but he's a little soft around the middle

and surprisingly, i've NEVER gotten that comment from any of the OB's i saw while pregnant with DD. she was 8lb 8oz at 38 weeks when she was born though, so if i continue to have kids with this man and they all come out like her, i'll never really want to go overdue.... not that i wouldnt be up for the challenge, but i'm not sure i could handle fending off the well meaning Dr's at that point.

i think i love this site BTW. i'm going through, trying not to cry at the thoughtful thursdays, and thinking up snarky comebacks to the stupid crap the rest of them say. i hope i get really good at it so i can do it in the hospital without having to think to hard....

He's just a tiny bit shy of 6 ft even and weighs...um...I don't pay attention...two-hundred-something...probably about 240 at the time...more than that now. He's not *really* big, especially for a Polynesian, but compared to my tiny butt, he looks pretty big. I think the OB was probably being racist.

yeah, I didn't really recognize at the time of my interaction with The Worst OB Ever how manipulative he was...the episiotomy thing was a red flag, though...as was his denial that upright pushing positions do any good and his statement that he finds that most women change their minds about wanting a natural childbirth when they're in labor

Thanks There are a lot of birth blogs out there, but I like to think mine has something unique to offer.
