Spotting

I started spotting on Saturday. I am 8w today. They did an u/s and can't find a cause coming from my uterus. I think the prometrium is irritating me. Regardless this is how my loss in May started so I am slightly freaking out. I realize that it is common, but it never happened with the other kids. Encouraging words welcome. This is kind of why I was mia. Sad thing is that is started on dh's birthday. Sad I feel bad for him.

I've been there and for me it's gone one way (a m/c in Feb/07) and the other (I'm now 16 weeks). With this pregnancy, I actually bled very heavily in the beginning. I was certain I'd miscarried. But somehow this little one hung in there. I hope this is the case with yours as well. :bigarmhug:

I'm sorry you're going through this, Christy. I had bleeding in my 1st pregnancy, (none in my second)--I know it's really scary, and I imagine it's even worse when you've just been through a loss. Sticky vibes and P&PT comiing your way.

Sooo sorry you have to worry about this! My spotting only went the wrong way, but my SIL had very heavy bleeding around 7 or 8 weeks with her first and he came out just fine (and no bleeding with her others). Try your best to stay relaxed and positive...I'm guessing from your post that the u/s did show a healthy pg in there other than the spotting, so hang on to that! :bigarmhug:

Major sticky vibes, it goes without saying.

Oops yeah sorry baby measured right on track and heartbeat was 172. So baby looked good. I forgot to put that in my original post.

Thanks everyone. I am trying to stay positive. Has anyone tried a natural progesterone cream instead of the suppositories?

I'm sorry hun Sad Based on your prometrium comment, are you struggling with low prog? If so, have you thought of switching to a natural prog supplement? Prometrium never did help me, I finally found a midwife who ordered some natural prog suppositories that were made via a compound pharmacy. They worked REALLY well - the snail trail was no fun, but I believe it's what allowed my now 4.5yr old son to make it through the pregnancy. ((((giant hugs)))) for you mama.

That's stress I didn't want for you :(. Boo to the bleeding, I hope it resolves and doesn't come back! Amen to a healthy baby, though Smile

glad to hear baby is measuring on track and has a strong heartbeat...that is always reassuring to hear. though even knowing that, I know spotting still makes you worrisome. I had spotting with this pregnancy with no known reason, and it resolved within a couple weeks...either an annoyed cervix or just the placenta being down low at the beginning were their explanations for mine. :bigarmhug: sending sticky vibes your way!

I have struggled with low progesterone with all my pregnancies. With Samantha (my first) I didn't use prometrium. I used something else. It was waxy and I had to get it at a special pharmacy. I wonder if that is what you used. I have an appt on Thursday. I will ask the doc about it

Low prog issues can be so very frustrating. It took us 5 years to concieve AND hold onto our 4th little one because we kept losing our babies. I finally ended up using a NPC by Arbonne that has an airtight metered pump & then switching to the NP suppositories and they worked really well. I hope your appt. goes well.

Oh yes, after my 2 m/cs in a row (and an unconfirmed but suspected 3rd before those) at 5wks, I got a prescription from an OB for a special cream progesterone (inserted with a plunger thingie) from the compound pharmacy and got pg with Adair right away during my next cycle. She switched me to prometrium pills at...ohhh...I don't know, 6 weeks? and I stayed on those until 13 weeks. I would say it's worth asking about--it worked for me.
