I posted this on the June 2011 board, but I thought I'd run it by you ladies here as well, as I know there is a lot of knowledge and experience here.
A few days ago I was standing on a chair in my living room, on the cordless phone, getting a plant down off the enterainment center to water. A little too much multi-tasking! Anyhow, I turned to step off and just fell all the way down to the carpet flat onto my stomach. It didn't hurt, and I wasn't worried, because I really just felt a-ok after it happened. I laughed at myself, picked myself up, explained what happened to my friend on the phone, and cleaned up the soil from the plant. I did call my midwife to let her know. She said if I experience pain or bleeding to get myself to the ER. If I felt something wasn't right, or wasn't feeling the baby move as normal, I should call her. She said if I'd been further along, she'd have me monitored for awhile, but at this stage in the pregnancy (26 weeks) she didn't think it necessary as long as I continued to feel ok.
Since then everything has been fine and normal other than my bottom hurts, feels sore, like I've been running or walking a lot, but I can't think what is causing it, and I didn't land on my bottom.
So the only other thing is my CM (cervical mucus). Of course it has been increasing lately to where I am getting a lot daily where I wasn't before. That's normal, but the odor is surprising to me. I don't recall this from last time, but I am now noticing a sweetish kind of odor with my CM. It isn't necessarily an unpleasant smell, just different. I first noticed this new odor after I fell, so a small part of me wonders if I am smelling some amniotic fluid. What do you think?
Oh girly, I don't know... call your midwife and ask. I don't have an answer but sending you hugs... btw you know our EDD are the same...
I called my midwife, she's not concerned, so I am going to let it be. If for some reason my concern grows, I'll call her again.
How neat that we have the same EDD! Do you deliver around on time, early or late? I had my DD 2 weeks late, but of course I have no idea what will happen this second time.
I wouldn't worry. There were several times through my second pregnancy that my CM smelled sweet. Mainly after I ate really really sweet foods. If it is a leak it's a very slow one and women can go weeks with out a problem and it often heals on it's own before baby is born.
