Thread: TSA Scanners

What are your thoughts on them while pregnant? I'm curious as I've read NOTHING cautioning pregnant women about them (they DO put off radiation) not to mention, the so called "pat downs" going on if you refuse the scanners...what are your thoughts ladies?

Funny you should bring this up. DH and I just had a discussion about this exact thing last night. I would NOT go through it pregnant or not. I actually haven't been staying caught up on the news so I didn't know anything about it til DH told me. I really haven't looked into it yet but just my knee jerk reaction would be no way!

ETA: I could always use a good frisking

I would have them pat me down regardless of pregnancy!

I just flew pregnant, but luckily i was flying with my dog, so I just went through the metal detector. However, that being said, radiation wise, it is very small. You get more radiation on the flight than you do from that machine.

But, if I was not with my dog, i would opt out of it. There is a mandatory USB port on the machine that allows employees to take images off the machine (government required that).

I'd rather be nearly sexually harassed than have my body images out there with who knows who!

I'd just strip down neekid right then and there. Mostly to make a scene and prove a point.

Me too!! Like the scanners and "pat-downs (feel ups)" are really doing ANYTHING?! AND the fact that some images HAVE been circulated....ummmmm NO THANKS!
