Happy Anniversary, I hope it was a great night.
Cindy
We had a nice night out-- dinner with hubby was yummy and we followed it up with ice cream. Yum. Then we ran a few kid-free errands and rented a movie before heading home. Nothing too exciting, but just what we were both in the mood for.
I had my weekly check-up today. Baby is still LOA. My iron is up from 2 weeks ago-- I was borderline anemic at 10.8, so was on a regimen of molasses and OJ-- and am happily up over 12 today on my iron. Woot. BP was 107/68, baby HR was 141, and all is well with me.Totally uneventful appointment, which I love.
Yesterday, I also finished getting some things together and out of storage, so I'm feeling more ready for a baby.
Last night Trey shared that he thinks he wants it to just be us and the kids for the birth. For all of our other births, we've had both of our moms present-- and he is fine with my mom being there, but he really doesn't want his mom there this time (they have a complicated relationship....to say the least!) I'm totally fine with whatever he chooses (since, frankly, I don't even notice or pay any attention to who is in the room with me when I'm birthing, I'm so in the zone that I literally have no clue who is there and who isn't....) Guess we'll sort that out in the next few weeks. His mom is traveling from Indiana to be here for the birth and I know she'll be bummed if she's not allowed in, but whatever he wants is fine by me. Plus I feel like he gets a big vote in this birth, since he missed the last one.![]()
With my first, my mom and sister were in the room with us and because my second was so quick, it was just and the staff... DH said right away how much he preferred it being just us. Like you, I didn't really care. For all the other kids, we've just had him and I (and the mw) and it has been really nice
Your evening out sounds lovely and relaxing! Funny how just doing errands is nice when you're in no rush and it is just the two of you!
Glad it was a great night out with DH and a nice boring appt. today!
I can totally understand his POV with not wanting anyone else there but I can see your mom being bummed after traveling to be there and being part of previous births. I'm sure it will all work out how its ment to though.

Jen- blackstrap molasses has a ton of iron in it-- mine has 30% of your recommended daily allowance per tablespoon. So I take two tablespoons each day and then follow with OJ to help the absorption. Seems to have worked! But I have to tell you, even though I like molasses, the burps I get post molasses and OJ are disgusting. Icky! And you have to read the labels on the molasses, bc not all have the same iron content. I found some that had nearly no iron and others that had 20-30%--so read carefully. My MW claims that this iron is more readily absorbed and better for you......which is why I've been taking it.
We had a lovely weekend. Spent yesterday doing things around the house and then had friends over for dinner. It was lovely to spend an afternoon with a dear friend and her four kidlets-- as they are moving this week and we'll miss them terribly.
Then today we sent to the pool for the entire morning, came home for lunch and naps (even I got a nap! WOOT!) and then went back to the pool for the afternoon. Kids are now zonked out and dh and I are just chilling.
I'm still feeling well. Got lots done around the house this weekend (swapped youngest DD's winter wardrobe for her summer clothes, deep cleaning of things like windows, and vacuuming of things like the stairs to the basement.....felt good to get things done.)
Our two oldest kids went to stay to with a friend for the night-- so it is particularly quiet around here..... I think I'll go to bed early. Only five more days of work left until I can enjoy some vacation time (hopefully before a baby arrives!)
I can't believe you're still working! That is awesome!
And well done on your productive weekend! Doesn't it feel so great to get that sort of stuff done?
