Sorry about the posterior baby. I hope you can get it into a better position. I don't have any tricks. My third was a posterior baby as well, no matter what I did the little stinker wouldn't stay in a good position once I would go into a good round of contractions he would turn posterior again. My midwife told me the same thing with him, that it would make things longer but that I could do it. If it made things longer I would hate to see what would have happened had he been in a good position because labor was only 2 hours long and 45 minutes was pushing, if anything it just made pushing longer. lol.
I hope you can breastfeed more successfully this time! That is such a hard thing not making enough milk to feed baby. That happened with my first one. Glad you are GBS negative too! That is a huge relief when that comes back negative.
I worked on getting this babe to turn last night and after 1.5 hours leaning on my birth ball a whole lot of nothing happened. I even slept on my belly for a bit, with lots of pillows to cushion, but I'm still feeling two kness under my ribs. I'll keep on it later today, I'm in the mood to bake so I'm making oatmeal raisin cookies and will freeze a good portion of them. We did take the kids to the pumpkin patch this morning and are planning to hit the corn maze tonight, I'll get some good walking in at least.
Kridda_88 - Thanks for the input on the posterior baby, I don't want to freak myself out about it and it's good to hear that even lengthening what's usually really short shouldn't make it a 12 hour labor
Here's the only two belly pictures I've taken, two weeks ago and today. I don't really see too much of an increase.
35 weeks 5 days
37 weeks 5 days
I loved your stories (especially Lily's). You go!
My first was posterior so I did a lot of work to try to prevent that from happening again. I used all of the tips from this article: http://www.motherspirit.net/articles...reventpost.htm It worked for me and baby came out easy! Good luck getting baby to move into a better position.
ETA: My link was acting funky, but I think I fixed it.
Andrea - Thank you, I added some of her suggestions to what I've been doing and I think this baby has moved but I'm not 100% sure how yet. I thought the bum was on my left side yesterday and after sleeping on my tummy for part of the night (thank God for pillows) I'm now no longer sure where it is.
I'm a bit surprised that I'm at work this morning. For some reason I thought I may have this baby over the weekend but nope. I did have a sore back on Saturday night and Dave commented it could be the night to have a baby but it wasn't. I feel ready for this little one at home and at work but now that it's another week I think waiting until Friday or Saturday would be best so I can utilize the free prenatal massage I have scheduled on Friday.
Finally made it here You're so close!!! Hope BF works out for you this time! I tried domperidone with Ethan. A compounding pharmacy was able to fill it for me.
Connie - The compounding pharmacies here are quite a bit more expensive than ordering through Canada and once we found out Cananda now requires s prescrption for it we luckily saw that I could get it through the UK at the same price without the prescription. Only part that has me worried is they want a signature for the package and I'm never home when they deliver mail, unless of course I've had the baby by then
I had my midwife appointment yesterday. Everything looks great and the baby is LOT so we're halfway there. I slept on my belly most of the night and still in LOT so I'll do what I can and not worry about it. I had sent my MIL (who is not pro homebirth but has wisely kept her mouth shut so far) an update on how things are going and the baby being sunny side up and that I'm working on getting it to turn and if not my midwives said my hips can handle it. She responds saying I should talk with a doctor and do research to see how it will effect me and the baby (because you know midwives can't be trusted only doctors can). This rubbed me wrong and I contemplated ignoring it like I usually do but instead I responded telling her that midwives specialize in this and know better than most doctors, bottom line I can handle it if the baby doesn't move anterior. I should probably stop reading her e-mails...
I feel the same and will work with Dave tonight to try to get things moving along if we can, if not then at least we'll have some fun. The midwife doesn't think it will happen this weekend because she hasn't seen the change in my face that she usually sees in moms before they go into labor, I'm not thinking a September baby isn't looking as promising. I'm debating taking the kids to the Fall Festival in town on Saturday. My parents will be in town Saturday afternoon and Dave will be heading off to a Pearl Jam concert on Sunday (which I told him to get tickets to months ago because it's been 4 years since he's seen them). He'll be gone at least 12 hours so I hope nothing happens in that time but if it does I won't be alone.
Didn't happen! Back at work this morning and surprised I'm here (because I'm ready to have a break from work) but there's also stuff I need to do this week so I can at least get it done now.
I've had some minor cramping but nothing consistent nor long enough to make me think it may be it. I do think this baby has shifted position again, I'm not sure to what yet but I'll keep tabs on kicks to see if I can map my belly, and I am carrying a little lower. The baby is still high but I have a short torso so where else can it go?
Dave went to the Pearl Jam concert last night and got home at 2:30, I'm thankful he stayed awake the whole drive. He commented that he'd be OK with my water breaking since it would mean he could stay home I slept terrible after that since Lily was up at 3:30 to go to the bathroom, then 4:00 because she had bad dreams about pink balls falling all over her stuff, and then at 4:30 because the pink balls were still falling. I pulled her into our bed at that point and hoped she'd fall asleep but when my alarm went off at 5:00 she was up as soon as she heard me out of the shower so it may be a rough day for my little princess. My parents were up this weekend in case I went into labor while Dave was gone so they headed back home this morning. I feel bad because they'll be back hopefully sooner rather than later to help out after the baby is born.
