Welcome to your lodge! I loved reading your birth stories!
Mama to Kostas with the Mostest, born 07/10/07
and Marek "Cricket" Joshua, born 12/07/12
My MIL has arrived! It's nice to have the extra pair of hands to help out.
No impending labour signs so far. We have a super busy weekend (three parties and a meeting for church) so hopefully that will keep the impatience at bay. I'm thinking next weekend sounds like a good time to have a baby.
Given your second birth story, is your mil nervous this time around?
DS 1 b. 1/19/09, DS 2 b. 1/12/11, DS 3 b. 3/3/13
She's a little bit nervous. She's already said very clearly she will NOT be catching another baby. It really freaked her out last time. But of course if she's the only one here, she'll do what she needs to. She's coming to my next midwife appointment (if I haven't already had the baby) to ask a few questions about what she should watch for should it happen the same way again, so hopefully that will help her feel a little more prepared and calm.
If DH is home, he's already said he'll catch if needed this time, but during the day it's just MIL and me and the kids. It's an hour's commute for DH, unfortunately. I just hope he doesn't end up missing it!
No signs of labour yet; still feeling patient. Washed the baby clothes today so that was another thing off my list (nothing like procrastination to keep the impatience away!).
LOL! How were her kids born? My MIL had all her kids while in full General anesthetic (just what they did here) - at least that's what DH says. Is that why "catching" freaks her out? If you are kneeling against the tub and there's a bath mat or towel, then it's not like there's not a soft landing and any distance to fall! Maybe you should put a couple extra folded towels in the bathroom - just in case! Add some padding!

She was concerned about all of the "what if's". It's easy to catch a baby, but not so easy to know what to do if the baby's not breathing or if your daughter-in-law starts bleeding out in front of you. Her own babies were all born naturally in a hospital.
Well, made it through our crazy weekend (three parties and a church meeting). Now that it's over, I'm already starting to feel impatient! Most of my to-do list is done, and the few things left aren't of major importance.
BH ctx are starting to feel a bit stronger at the moment, but nothing that feels like actual labour. Not very intense, steady, or frequent. Heading to bed. Tomorrow evening seems like a nice time to have a baby. (Hear that, Baby? )
I'm really going to have to find something to distract myself, or this could be a very long week.
