I enjoyed reading your intro. TFS
Sounds like you have a good midwife. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you won't have to worry about hitting 42 weeks.
I have never felt the practice breathing. I've heard other ladies talk about noticing it and being able to see their belly move with the "breathing" but I've not experienced it. Maybe I've just never gotten far enough along. Not sure...
I've never experienced the practice breathing either. *shrug* I had anterior placentas with both though so that could be a factor.
Didn't realize you lived in Chicago for awhile. Did you ever get to see any of F.L.Wright's buildings while out there?
Glad your MW isn't going to push induction until 42 weeks! that's great news!

My doula just emailed that she will be out of state this weekend (Friday thru Sunday) for a funeral. She told me to keep my legs crossed. Haha. She set me up with a backup doula, but I'd rather keep my doula, so I'm hoping to make it thru the weekend.
Mel, Chicago was great minus the weather. I loved living in a big city. I did see the FLW stuff. I saw the Robie House and went to Oak Park where his house and studio is along with a bunch of houses and that Unity Church. Fun stuff. Its a great city for architecture!
Hope this weekend passes uneventfully for you!
I'm sure anterior placenta would be a factor in whether you could feel practice breathing--it's pretty subtle. You could really only feel it without a placenta in the way and with baby's back facing out. If you notice it, though, it's the sweetest
I had no idea one could feel practice breathing how neat. I felt hiccups with both and lots of movements, but other than the hiccups I couldn't tell what I was feeling. Well I guess I could tell when I was feeling their butts but that was about it! I hope that baby stays put over the weekend for you until your doula gets back.
Great story, so cute how much your hubby is really looking forward to the baby after waiting so long.
I've never heard of feeling practice breathing either!
Oh and super great that your midwife is okay with you going at least to 42 weeks!
So yesterday and today, I've had some nausea and extreme fatigue. Also I'm extremely gassy. Like uncontrollably gassy. Not sure if this all due to something I ate or if its impending labor. I feel all first trimestery again. Not fun, I hope that means my baby is coming soon.
Also my friend took some maternity pics of us this weekend. Here's the link to the April post...
