I know I'm late, but welcome to your lodge! I hope you have an even better birth story to come this time. I love your pics too, such a perfect baby belly!
Can't sleep... so I thought I would come check in here. Had my 39 week appointment this morning and was 2cm dilated... so my doc went ahead and "stretched" me, whatever that means. My doula said he most likely stripped the membranes. Started off some contractions that went on throughout the day. But they have yet to get intense and really go down when I lie down. I walked for a good hour and a half this afternoon and they got going pretty good... But I feel like nothing is really happening and that is discouraging. But I guess it could be a day or a week... I have had some spotting/bleeding and just had a nice big brown clump of mucus on my panties... so I guess something IS happening. And why on earth I would be looking forward to those fabulously painful contractions?? You got me! I am just so entirely ready to get this pregnancy over with and meet my son.
Who has apparently turned himself in the past three days. Not breech, just facing the wrong direction. I don't know the terminology, but one way is anterior and one was is posterior and he is turned the wrong way of the two. For the first time in I think my entire pregnancy I have been feeling kicks on the left side in the past couple of days. I didn't realize it was an issue (my doctor didn't say anything) until I was talking to my doula about it. She says it is going to make things a little more difficult, but we will be able to handle it. Yay.
So it is 2am and my DH is snoring away on 3/4 of the bed... I know I need to sleep but my whole body aches and I can't shut my head off. But I will give it another try!
Sorry to hear that you are having so much trouble sleeping. Hopefully it means you are close to something happening. I know that I had more sleepless nights right before my water broke on 'the' night.
Hope you were able to get some sleep. Sounds like you have that last minute anxiousness going on, I bet LO will be coming soon. Sounds like your body is totally gearing up. Try spending some time on hands and knees today to encourage his back to swing to the front and get in a better position. Also feels good in that position to ease some tension in your back.

What a beautiful birth story! So glad your mom could make it in time and you were able to have your precious little girl without too much hinderance. Can't wait to see how this birth goes. You are almost there!!
Looking good! Seems that baby has definitely dropped!
