Oh and my kids are soooooo excited about having the baby in a POOL! lol
They are pretty sure they should all wear their bathing suits so they can jump in. And my DD (who's 5) was really concerned about what I would wear... "Mommy, I don't think you can wear your normal bathing suit, because, how would the baby come???"

Have fun with the pool! When prepping for our second HB we did a "practice" run of filling the pool w warm water and then let the kids play in the pool in our bedroom-- they had so much fun and totally remember it. We opted to do the trial run bc with our first HB we had a "hiccup" with the hose attachments (picture water spraying all.over.the.bathroom. bc the hoses couldn't handle the water pressure and it slowed the filling of the tub and made a huge mess and I didn't want to do that a second time (nor did dh!)
When it was time for the actual birth, only our two youngest got into the tub (post-birth)-- our eldest opted just to watch-- but she's a bit more cautious.
Not sure how they'll react this time since we are skipping the pool and just using the tub-- I'm not sure there will be as much room for the whole family to hop in with me (even though I do still fit in there with all 4 for a bath--lol.)
Had my home visit and we are good to go (as of Monday that is)... Baby and I both are doing great
This weekend we'll get the birth pool sorted out and that's it!
We'll do my GBS swab next time and agreed to wait on any sweeps until 38 weeks at least.
I forgot to ask about who would be on call as backup I'm pretty sure the same mw who delivered DD2 (my first homebirth) will be the primary mw (she's the one who came today), but they also have a second mw come. That can be any one of the 3 other mw in the clinic. They work in pairs so two of them are "my" mws, and the other two I only know from working with them at the hospital.
I am more nervous about this delivery then I was about my first home birth. Even though everything went fine with DD2 birth and I'm super pleased with the whole experience, I know there was potential for problems/transfer, just due to my daughters size. Anyways, for that reason, I'm thrilled that the same mw will be here with me. She was so calm, so confident despite everything... I'm far more at ease knowing she will be here again. Not that I don't trust my other mw, but just like I gained a measure of confidence from my first birth knowing I can push out a 10+ pound baby, I have an extra measure of confidence in her knowing she can calmly deal with assisting in the delivery of a 12 pound baby.
Yay for feeling great about your MW's-- that is how I feel about mine, that she can handle anything and is so competent and calm and knowledgeable. I just adore her.
Glad you got everything sorted out and are getting ready. Our babies will be here soon!
37 weeks!! All the birth pool stuff is together and we'll test fill it tonight!
I'm feeling good overall, but by the time evening rolls around I.am.sore. I stole my parents exercise ball today, so I'll have something comfy to sit on. My giant belly is so big that I just can't sit on a normal chair... Well, I can't sit at all unless my legs are really far apart to make room for the belly in between. My kids thought is was hilarious that I ate dinner at the table on the ball instead of a normal chair
Oh and I would like to keep this baby baking for at least another week. My dad is having surgery tomorrow and will be in hospital until the weekend, so my mom will be tied up. She and my sister are supposed to be the ones to come and look after the kids while I labor.
