Sorry I'm late to your lodge Kristi. My phone is the worst with this site.
Yay for 37 weeks and being set for the HB!
Its good that you have limits to where your mom will be and not be. Its nice to have the help with the kids but totally rough is she isn't 100% on board and could bring negativity into your birth space. Sounds like you have a plan.
On kids attending. I think its totally fine and workable if you've talked, read, and looked at some videos. DS1 was 5 when I was planning my HB with Odin. He was so excited about the entire thing and was actually bummed in the end that he missed it. During the whole labor he would just pop in every now and then but was more into seeing the new people in our house and doing some of the special things we had put together for him in the baby day kit. He was also digging all the extra baby day snacks we had stocked in the house 'to be opened the day of'. It is nice that your have someone there for them though if they choose not to be in the room or present the entire time.
So excited to meet your newest LO! I'll try to pop back in before you have this baby.
My daughter (Sarahsunshine) read "We're having a home birth" with her kids before their baby brother was born in the hot tub at their home last September. [http://pregnancy.about.com/od/homebi...homebirth.htm] It was pretty exciting for them all (at midnight!) and they were well prepared. Her 3 year old knew just as much as the 13 year old because of the book. "Mommy will sound like an elephant!"
I've just returned from a couple of weeks visiting there, and the kids wanted me to re-read that book several times to them at bedtime. They look back on that night as very very special.

On Valentines Day I was in labor for 6 hours. I was having contractions every 1 1/2 to 3 minutes, lasting anywhere from 40 seconds to over a minute. However, after 6 hours they just stopped. We had called the midwives, they were at our house for probably 3 hours. We waited to see if they would start up again and they didn't, so the midwives went home and we went to bed. That was a week ago, and not much has been happening since! Baby is LOA and head is so far engaged they can't even feel it when palpating my belly. So we wait.....
It's weird to be this pregnant, when both my girls came in their own time, and both within the 37th week. In 2 days, I'll be at my "due date," for whatever that's worth.
Not enough. I'm getting tired of waiting. I've been knitting and crocheting. And I'm trying to find some small outing to do each day. I've backed way off and work so I don't have much to keep my mind off it (other than the usual day to day of caring for kids).
