Brief update: I had my baby on March 9 at 1:55 am. I was exactly 42 weeks LMP, or 41 weeks by o date. I had a 37 minute labor (first contraction to baby born). My husband caught her while the midwives were on their way. She was 10 lbs, 4 oz!
From my own experience, fast is not necessarily easy!

Thank you! It was very intense. I went to bed a little after midnight, after whining that I was going to be pregnant forever. About an hour later I woke up and bolted out of bed in hard labor. My husband had fallen asleep downstairs, and I wasn't sure I was even going to be able to make it downstairs to him. Luckily he was awake and in the kitchen when I made it down. I told him to call the midwives and made my way back upstairs. Baby came very soon after, and I delivered her standing up in our bathroom (I couldn't move to get in any other position) and he caught. I'll have to write up the full story soon before I forget details, but it all happened sooooo fast, there's not much to say!
Wow just read your lodge, you have had some crazy births!!
I can't imagine waiting 42 weeks but I would do it to avoid induction!
And wow 10lbs - did you have tearing this time around?
Congrats on a successful homebirth. At least even though the midwives didn't get there, hubby was able to catch the baby at home instead of in the car. Good call on the homebirth though!
