Thanks! I don't have any "bedside" at all, though--the crib is sidecarred to my side of the bed. The main issue is where to put my water bottle and alarm clock so I can see it in the middle of the night without sitting up...right now I'm just tossing my water bottle in the crib and keeping the clock in the windowsill that's now behind the crib (and hitting snooze with my foot in the morning, lol), but I don't know how well that'll work once there's a baby in there...
Poor DH...fingers crossed you don't end up with it! It is better him than you right now.
Definitely. Although I certainly hope he's back to normal in time to be my birth partner!!!
Sending Get Well Soon vibes to your hubby!
Do you have a headboard? Maybe hang one of those old-style car door cupholders or a kitchen cabinet shelf over it to hold your water bottle and/or alarm clock? Or hang it from the crib rail?
Just got back from my 38 week appointment. Super quick and easy. Kiddo is still head down--YAY!!!!! When I was walking back up to my office, I was feeling lots of low pressure, so I'm thinking we're out of the woods on the whole flipping around thing at this point. I actually lost about a pound (probably from eating nothing but veggies and hummus for lunch for 2 weeks due to all the midday nausea) and am still measuring 2 weeks small but they're not worried--they said I'm within normal limits and tall so as long as baby's happy, they're happy. She felt the baby (pretty firmly...) and is guesstimating around 7lbs now, and said fluid feels fine. Soooo...nice and boring! :)
We don't have a headboard. I might be able to hang something on the crib rail, though...at least while kiddo is small enough not to get into it ;)
Stopped by the house to drop off DH's phone that he'd left in the car, and took the opportunity to take some extra vitamin D and eat a bunch of raw garlic. That was all the immune boosting stuff we had, though. Might stop on the way home for some zinc and echinacea and stuff...I *really* do not want this virus!!!!!!!
DH is MUCH better and back to work this morning, thank goodness! Now I can stop worrying about a sick birth partner AND know that if Adair or I get it, it's likely to be quick, at least (DH is usually the sickliest of the family, so if he kicked the worst of it in one day, I'm guessing DD and I will be fine)
No real contrax or anything, but kiddo was loooow all afternoon and evening yesterday, giving me tons of shooting groin tendon twinges. Haven't had any of those today but she still feels like she's in a really good position. I just dug up a photo of myself at 38 weeks last time and DD was still much higher than this kid is now...hopefully that means she'll be a bit more prompt than her sister! We shall see :)
I'm glad DH got better quickly! yay for a good appointment and a head down baby!
The alarm clock gives me trouble, too. Especially since I wear glasses and need it within a few feet of me if I want to see it. We use a co-sleeper, so I just have to give up the alarm clock until baby's out of our room. I usually put it (and my water bottle) on my dresser just past the co-sleeper, so at least I'll walk right past them if I get up for any reason.
Right now the co-sleeper is home to my clock, water bottle, sometimes my glasses, a couple extra pillows, and the kids' life-size newborn doll. ;)

It's a slightly different angle but I think my belly is a different shape and size...like maybe she's a little lower and more engaged this time? Not as dramatic as Victoria's, but still...different.
(PS excuse the work bathroom backdrop....lovely, isn't it? ;))
