Happy due date. I also hope no news is good news. What does AROM stand for? Those cervical checks....dont do it! Haha, jk. Its so hard not to when you are sitting around waiting to have a baby. I hope if you arent having a baby right that your cervix is already to go! Less of a need for cohosh.

Hi ladies! (Elizabeth: AROM=artificial rupture of membranes)

Sorry, I was mobile all afternoon/evening and it's a pain to post on here from my phone. I had my appointment and as more or less expected there's no real news. I did go ahead with the check (no sweep), and I'm at a "stretchy 1-2, about 50% effaced" which isn't much but is a heck of a lot better than I was at 40 weeks last time ("high and tight")...this is about where I was right before I went into labor last time. I know it doesn't mean a whole lot, but it's just another sign that things are at least moving in the right direction, which makes me happy and actually slightly less impatient. I'm now thinking Fridayish. Baby is loooooooooooow (as I have been saying!) and still curled up in a little ball so still measuring about 5 weeks small, but the midwife said she feels like she's a good 7-7.5 lbs, just packed in there. I seem to have completely plateaued at 18 lbs weight gain (been here for about a month) but again they're not too concerned, since baby and I are both healthy. She was moving around like crazy and had a 150-160 heart rate during my appointment. I'm really exhausted pretty much all the time and still having crazy shooting pains in my groin when she hits those nerves, but otherwise I'm feeling OK. Trying to get in all the rest and naps I can. Baby is ROT again so I'm trying to get in some hands and knees time too, but honestly this is where Adair was and she moved anterior during labor--I was able to get this one to move her bum to the center last night but it's back on the right this morning, so I think she's just going to be where she wants to be until it's go time.

Anyway...hanging in there. Will be happy to go into labor at any point, but still doing fine, all things considered.

1-2, stretchy and 50% is a better spot to start labor than high and closed! Sorry she's still holding out on you.

We really are having very similar end-of-pregnancies!

And oh yeah, here's my 40 week pic, from yesterday. Really hope it's my last!

Looking good! Progression sounds good. 1-2 cm that you dont have to do in labor!! Are you doing EPO and RRL? Can't remember.

I've been doing EPO...I drank RRL a couple of times but honestly I keep forgetting or thinking of it only at weird times...I'm just not much of a tea drinker. (Thanks for the reminder! I'll try to get some in today...) I actually went ahead and tried black/blue cohosh on Monday when I stayed home for the day, but it did NOTHING, not even trigger BH, so I am giving it a few days before trying it again. Maybe this weekend, since Tuesday will be my last day eligible to birth at the BC. While I'm working hard not to stress about that, and succeeding so far, I definitely don't mind gently encouraging things along a bit toward the end just in case it makes the difference. I'll get a strip on Monday if she still hasn't made up her mind to come out, and after that...let the chips fall where they may!

The biggest thing I've been doing is walking...I've been putting podcasts on my phone and walking around for 15-30 minutes at work at least once but sometimes multiple times per day. In fact I think I may go for another lap now...sitting around just isn't all that comfortable anyway, and I'm out of things to do!

Good luck with the walking! I gave up on that after DS2. At 38+6 and 2cm and 50% I went for a 4 mile hike. At my appointment the next day there was no change from the previous week at all. He stayed put for another 5 days before finally coming. I really hope it works better for you!

Yeah...honestly it feels better to walk around than sit in an office chair all day as long as the groin pains aren't too regular, so I figure moving around and getting some light exercise can't be hurting even if it isn't "doing" anything in terms of bringing on the baby. I walked a bunch in my last week with DD, and while I did get some BH out of it, they weren't particularly productive. I just like getting away from my desk for a while and moving around some...breaks up the day. I am so ready to be done with work now, but I figure I can finish out the week at this point and save myself those extra few days of leave. I'll probably take half days Thursday and Friday, but since I had a little more energy this morning I thought I'd get at least one full day in. I'm leaving in an hour anyway so may as well stick it out now...

Oh yeah, if you're otherwise stuck in an office chair I can definitely see the appeal of getting up and walking! Since I'm home with 3 kids sitting is kind of a luxury. I'd be all for saving some days of leave, too.

I really hope baby comes soon so you don't have to worry about delivering somewhere other than the birth center.
