We actually seriously considered naming her Susanna so we could keep the Soosa nickname (probably spell it Susa in that case) but we just didn't quite love it enough to make it stick. It's a lovely name and actually not that common, but just too close to middle age lady associations with all the Suzannes and Susans born in the 50s and 60s.

I think she's rotated from ROT to LOP...maybe on her way to LOA? Which would be awesome, since Spinning Babies says that's the best for start of labor...I was feeling feet all across the top middle of my belly yesterday and today up high on the right side, and no more pressure in my right hip, so fingers crossed that I'm reading this correctly. Some mild central downward pressure, and my belly definitely looks a bit lower. Addy was ROT going into labor and I don't doubt that it contributed to the slowness of it all, so starting in a better position this time would definitely be welcome!

We actually got almost completely ready last weekend just in case the version ended in a baby, so I really don't have much to do! There are a couple of boxes of newly handed down NB/3m stuff in my car that I need to find a spot for, and I don't have a shelf hung up to replace my bedside table now that the crib is there yet, but none of that is really crucial to have done before baby. I do have ONE last project that absolutely has to get done at work, but I'm close to finishing it (my goal was 10/1 and I think I'll make it...) and after that I was just planning to work on wish list working-ahead type stuff anyway, so...really, she can come anytime and I'll be happy at this point! I do have a haircut/pedicure/lunch date with my mom on Saturday that it would be nice to make Aside from better positioning, though, and some strong but still very random BH, I'm not feeling or seeing any labor signs yet, so I think we probably still have a little while to wait.

fingers crossed that she's rotating to a better position and then will engage more!

My mom's name was Susan and she was born in '49. We named DD Olivia Susan after her, but yes I wouldn't use Susan/Suzanne as a first name I don't think!

Have fun with your mom tomorrow! Oh and I hope Soosa comes earlier than Adair at least! Often they won't come until in a better position so you never know, maybe she'll make her entrance before your EDD.

I like the name Susanna, but I'm biased. It's my sister's name (born mid-80s). I completely understand being influenced by the older sibling. DH and I are stuck between 2 names and all the boys like one of them and it adds a lot of pressure! It's just so cute when they care.

Oh I love the name Susana. It was one of my top picks for years...especially when I was dating a a guy from Spain and thinking of names that can be pronounced the same in multiple languages. Haha. Susa is a cute nickname too.

Its great that you don't have a huge to-do list. My midwife told me that babies sometimes wait until you have checked everything off your list. So anytime after October 1st little soosa.

Yes, I like the name Susanna too...just not QUITE enough to be the one, you know? I might have talked myself into it, but DH was on the fence about it as well, so between the two of us feeling wishy washy, eventually it lost out to something we both liked better (I am insane about names so the fact that we actually found one that fits all my crazy criteria is nothing short of amazing )

I don't know what else at this point I could possibly do to be ready, aside from these couple of stupid last projects at work...but at this point I don't think I really care if someone else has to finish them up. Hopefully I can get them squared away in the next couple of days anyway just in case there is any mental hangup there. Otherwise...we are R-E-A-D-Y...all packed, car seats installed, crib up, house clean...DH and I just did mega kitchen duty last night and made gallons of chicken stock with all the rotisserie carcasses we've been saving in the freezer, and I made a giant stockpot full of gumbo, with okra we've been saving up all summer from the garden...it came out SO DELICIOUS and we are going to eat it a few nights this week and freeze the rest for after baby meals, so that's awesome! I didn't even bother to make meals ahead last time since DH does most of the cooking anyway, so I'm actually feeling ahead of the game. This kid just needs to decide she wants to come out and play....

Trying really hard to just relax and stay patient and positive. She's coming in the next 3 weeks, I'm still feeling good, all's well. Just excited to meet her...

FWIW we still refer to Tiven as "Monkey" on occasion. It's such a sweet nickname and kind of fits her personality. We don't call Weston "Ginger Baby" anymore, though, especially since he's pretty much lost the redness in his hair.

I am really curious whether Adair will still use "Soosa" once she finds out the real name! It would be totally cute if she does, but I guess time will tell. We haven't told her the name yet because she is a total blabbermouth and there would be no secret keeping at all if she was in on it

I'm just super happy my nesting FINALLY kicked in! That scheduled version with its possibility of triggering labor definitely helped...

Ugh, so DH is sick--REALLY sick, with a terrible cold or something. So bad he stayed home, and that's saying A LOT. He's a teacher so it's hard for him to call in, he only "Gets" 5 sick days, we lose bonus money for every one he takes off, AND that's one less day he'll get to be home with baby! But he hardly slept at all last night and was burning up this morning--there was really no choice. AWFUL timing, and if he shares this with me at this stage in the game I am going to lose my mind...so cross your fingers for NO SHARING.

Something like this might work instead of a shelf, provided you have a place for your lamp.
