I don't think anything will be picking up tonight but I do feel it's a start. It would be good timing if she came tomorrow or Saturday so IDK, we'll see. Of course, she'll probably stick it out now that I just jinxed myself.

I don't think babies have internet in there, at least not for a few more years, LOL! Just delete the post, don't think about it any more, and everything will be just fine!

Thanks! I'm quite surprised to be pregnant at 39 weeks! It's a new experience for sure.

I feel good though...I've been feeling better the last few weeks than I did at like 32 to 34 weeks. I am ready for her arrival at any time though. Friday and Saturday were pretty quiet after last Thursday and then had more sporadic contractions yesterday. I still think my body is doing something but I could easily go to 40 weeks.

My next check up is 3:30 on Wednesday. I'm considering having doc do a sweep. I feel like it's a pretty minimal risk intervention and won't work if I'm not close anyway. Opinions? Thoughts?

If there is a decent change in your cervix the sweep may work. I was closed tight and long at 40+4 last pregnancy. 2 days later I was 1.5 cm and my OB did a sweep and nothing happened. Worked like a charm at 41+3 after I had lost a lot of my plug.

My plan is to do a sweep (if possible) next week when I've past the 40 week mark. As I'm sure you've heard before, make sure it is just a sweep and not a ROM!

I hear you! I trust my doc to be gentle and just do a sweep however it does concern me a bit more just b/c that is how labor has always started for me before. I wonder if for some reason I easily have rupture of membranes? IDK, it's just odd to have 2 rupture with no previous indication if anything going on. This one has been totally different too so who knows?

Anyway, at my check-up last week I was 1.5 cm dilated and approximately 50% effaced. But my cervix is still really high so not sure if that would make it difficult. I'll just ask and make it clear I only want a sweep and if there is concern of accidental rupture I'd prefer to wait.

GL trying the sweep. I'd go for if the doc thinks it would be easy to do.

do you do a strep B culture? a MW friend of mine has said that there might be a connection between the presence of strep B and SROM in early labor, or before labor starts. as if maybe the bacteria causes the membranes to be more prone to rupture?? I haven't found any research on it, but I figured I'd mention it.

I did not get to that point with DS1 but had it done just days before I went into labor with DS2 and it came back negative. I've had it this time too, at 35 wks, and results were negative.
