Well, I got the new crib part ordered and it ended up costing $27!!! It seems kind of ridiculous... but then, about 6 hours after ordering it, DH found the missing piece!! I told him that he was going to find it, but he was convinced that it was gone forever. Men. Anyway, luckily I was able to cancel the order this morning before it shipped - YAY! So we ended up getting the crib assembled, but now we need a mattress. But almost there! :D I've got all of the mattress and changing table pad sheets and covers washed, and things will start to go up on the walls tonight. And I will be painting the changing table tonight, too, so we can move that in tomorrow.
Now, if only I could convince myself to brave the the and humidity to install the car seat. DH is starting to panic about it... this is his first, so he's never installed a car seat before, so I need to get it done before baby comes. I have installed car seats eight million times before, so it's nothing to me... but it's just so hooooot outside!! *whine*
So I'm gunning for having this baby sometime the weekend of August 10-12. So wish me luck! I've decided that weekend is ideal. We should have everything pretty much ready to go by then, the girls will be with their dad for the weekend, AND my OB is the on-call doc that weekend. So the stars will all align that weekend! Now, if only Baby will cooperate. I'm thinking August 12th would be a FABULOUS day to be born - then Baby D can share a birthday with his great grandmother, too! The 12th would put me at 39+3, so it could totally happen.
The pain and pressure I'm experiencing in my pubic area is REALLY making it hard to sit at all... the only place where I can get comfortable is on my birth ball - which is making work miserable. LOL And yesterday I had the craziest experience - it's totally TMI, so let's just say that I actually had to push up on my vaginal area to get rid of the bulge so that I could close my legs after a particularly arduous attempt at going to the bathroom - I'm pretty sure that I basically pushed LO's head back up so that I could walk again after. I actually almost panicked for a second that I was pushing the damn baby out with my bathroom efforts, but I knew that was pretty much impossible. Anyone else ever experienced that before??
But on the bright side, I'm sleeping FABULOUSLY. I'm so thankful for that. I wake up exhausted and sore, but at least I've slept through the night. I don't remember sleeping through the night at this point anymore in my previous pregnancies, so I'm counting myself as lucky here...
How awesome that DH found the missing crib part so you were able to save the $27 to replace it. A mattress is easy to get, you're so close to ready! I don't blame you at all for not wanting to go out in the heat. At this point with DD, I was on strict bedrest and a couple weeks off from full term. Despite laying in an AC'd room all the time, I hated the short amounts of time I'd have to spend in non-AC places. At least when you do it the car seat shouldn't take too long to install. :)
The pain sounds awful. I had a ton of pressure and some shooting pains, but nothing quite that bad. Do you have a throw pillow or something you can use at work to be more comfortable? How close to your due date are you working? How awesome about the sleeping!
I'm working right up until the day I go in to labor... *sigh* I wish it wasn't that way, but I need to save up as much vacation adn sick time as I can to use after baby is born! I am planning to take 12 weeks off, and I only get 6 weeks of reduced pay from my short term disability. So the remaining six weeks I have to use sick/vacation time, or be unpaid. As it is, I am looking at 4 weeks of unpaid time...

I also called the diaper store and got us set up for diaper service for the first month at least, so now I can quit worrying about having dipes for this LO... I think we're just going to go with the diaper service until he can fit into the OS diapers that I've begun stocking up on. I think we're going to do a combination of pockets and prefolds once he grows out of the newborn size - pockets for when my mom watches him (because she's a wimp! LOL) and prefolds for the rest of the time. So I feel good about it all, and DH is right on board which is even better.
That's what we do - and yes, I do need to call the diaper service... tomorrow!
Awesome that your DH found the missing crib piece and also that you were able to cancel the order before it shipped. I can't believe you are sleeping through the night at this night. Nights are miserable for me. You are one lucky girl!
Last night I pulled the changing table out of the garage - my mom built it for me when I was pregnant with my twins, and it was used for my youngest DD, too. I held on to it because it was bug, sturdy, and special to me, so it's nice that I can use it for this baby, too. But it's been stored in the garage as a shelf for the last 5+ years, so it needed some major TLC. So the girls and I painted it with a fresh couple coats of white paint last night and it looks like new!! I can't wait to bring it into the house tonight and get it situated in Baby D's room!
I also managed to get my Arm's Reach co-sleeper all set up and ready to go in my room - I won't actually put it in until baby arrives since I'll have to move my night stand and everything to do so it's hanging out in baby's room waiting, too! :) On the upside, putting it up spurred me to start on cleaning up my room and rearranging a bit. I'll finish that project this weekend along with all of the other projects that we have to do. We're also going to finish all of the new closets with shelves and closet organizers so that I can finally put baby's clothes away somewhere, too! ;)
Hmmmm... and now that I'm thinking - we need to get shades and curtain rods for baby's room. Note to self, I guess!
I'm feeling good today after being adjusted yesterday... so not much happening here. I'm thinking that I've got at least another week left, but wouldn't be surprised by longer...
You are such an overachiever. I get on here and read your posts and feel really lazy. I managed to actually dress everyone in my house today and that was with minimal whining........from me, not them
I'm so glad you found the crib piece, it's always nice to save money!
Me too!! But I didn't even help my kids get dressed...hehehe...they dressed themselves. I feel really lazy after reading Melissas posts also. Lol!
