I'm positive the babysitter will be great. You should use her to go on a date with hubby this weekend or next!
Teagan was the same with her movements. She'd be a little alien baby for half the day and then she must have slept the other half. I bet there's an app that could help you count movement easily throughout the day. I wouldn't normally recommend doing such a thing because it might lead to excessive worrying but I think in your case it will help ease your mind.
Love the alien comparison as that's often how it feels. With Em, I did kick counts twice a day per my MFMS so I figure I'll do that again. I've thought of the app thing too but I am going to hold off a little on that unless he has a quiet day or we're busy. I always notice his movements, but I don't track them nearly as well if we're out and about.
The babysitter went well thankfully. She's also willing to help with Em after DS is born for appointments or whatever which is great. We can't really afford for DH to take much time off for when the baby comes, so idk if he'll be free for the 1 week appointment. There's also an amazing BF group through the hospital that is a lot closer then my local LLL so I'd like to do that with DS every now and again. It's insane how excited I am to BF again. :D
DH got a gc from his work for Emma for $100 to BRU! They said they were sorry in recognizing her birth so late but that they'd "be here for our son too" so that was a pleasant surprise. That will easily take care of her xmas shopping! I also was thinking today of making xmas gifts for family by doing the finger painting on canvas (like Jackie and Aiden did for Zoe's room) with a holiday tree shape. I have no idea which type of paint to use but it could be fun.
I notice movements much more when I'm chillin' or relaxing too. Sometimes I have a little freak out because I will get busy during the day and haven't paid attention to his movements. Then I will lay down and do a kick count and am done in like 10 minutes. LOL
Glad to hear the babysitter went well and is willing to help out with appts and stuff after baby is born. And WOOT for a $100 GC!! :)
This morning the little guy made me all kinds of nervous while doing kick counts. He did a bunch of movements in the first few minutes then was quiet until almost the two hour mark when I prompted him with some apple juice. I know it's technically okay as he had 10 movements in two hours but it made me nervous. I feel better that he's been more active since.
I went to the grocery store and felt awful during that. DH is going to do some errands soon so I'm hoping things will settle down so I don't have to call whoever is on call for the weekend.
On a good note, I got a bit of holiday shopping done yesterday at a local craft fair. We have a party to go to next Saturday so I have all I need for that minus the kids, who are easy to buy for because they're ages 3-16. The wall hangings I got for the couples in the family are holiday themed. The woman who sold them to me asked if I wanted a wall hanging for a baby's room for free as she's had it for a few years and it just hasn't sold, so I have that to share once I have the pictures on my computer. :)
How nice of her! And congrats on 35 weeks! Almost there. :)
Thanks! It's getting difficult to look at all the new LOs and not be a little impatient as much as I want to make it to our induction/37 weeks.

Last night I ended up calling the office answering service for (mostly BH) contractions that were patterned after sitting down with some pressure but not that painful. I did have some really uncomfortable contractions earlier in the day, but I'd been grocery shopping so I figured it was just from walking around. I was ultra hydrated but it still didn't feel like a total freak out situation. Thankfully my favorite MW was on call and she said I could take some nifedipine that I had left from my 28 week observation and if that didn't help to call her back. It spaced things out quickly which was a relief as it usually doesn't help me. I had a few contractions wake me up between when DH left for work at almost 4 am and 7:30 when DD got up. Had constant crampy BH 9 min apart for the first hour or so but hydrating a ton, skipping coffee and sitting helped a little. He's been moving a lot which is reassuring. All day I've still just felt off. I've been super emotional, my body has been extremely "regular", I feel exhausted and when i do have pressure with contractions it's really intense.
I am 80% sure I'm going to call l&d when DH gets home. I just feel better about having him at home with her incase they need to monitor me for a while and figure out if something's up then go to an NST tomorrow morning only to be transferred to L&D on DD's first day with a new babysitter. I'm really hoping it's nothing and we can keep him in longer but with my ICP symptoms being worse I wonder if that's why my body's acting up. DD has been such a saint today.

So my l&d visit was short and sweet last night. They were glad I came in, but there was no need to keep me. My BP was a little high, but nothing alarming. They gave me some zofran for the nausea that's been getting worse and that of course did wonders. Little man looked great on the monitor. I was having mild contractions (mild by my watch) every 10 to 14 minutes. The nurse checked me so I wouldn't have to wait for the OB and I hadn't changed (50% 1 cm) and VERY posterior so they let me go home. They wanted me to follow up with an NST tomorrow and see how I was today to decide on keeping today's appointment.
I insisted on going in as I was feeling worse -- nauseous again, and vomiting all morning. They were happy to have me in and did an NST to be safe. Thankfully my GBS was negative (same as with DD though I know that doesn't matter) and my bile salts went down a little bit so we're not in the severe range. My MW wrote me some prescriptions for the nausea and heartburn so I can eat better. She didn't mention it, but the last two appointments I've had I've been down three pounds (for a total of 23 gained). I am hoping the meds will help with that. They insisted I keep my threshold low for what makes me come in or call because of my PTD history and the ICP so that made me feel less insane.
We have my amnio scheduled for next Friday with an induction on Monday if he passes. I am thinking of asking for my bile salts to be redrawn Tuesday just so we have that to go against the amnio. If they go up a lot then I'm not going to be okay with going past Monday as that's when things get risky but they don't seem to think I'll get to the induction let alone amnio. ;)
If we make it through the amnio and it doesn't put me into labor or break my water, I'm insisting on DTD and pumping to help things along. I don't feel comfortable with castor oil in that we're already at risk for meconium staining with the ICP and other labor stress. I'm a little bummed to push out the dates a bit further, but the 17th is DH's lucky number. ;)
Glad to hear they were able to give you some Zofran to help you feel better. When is your amnio scheduled for? I hope you don't make your induction too!
