Ahaha that makes things seem too real Ashley! I just can't wrap my head around the fact that things could happen. I keep waiting for them to get more painful. Still having them consistently despite resting and drinking more water just to see what would happen. They get really tight and some have cramps but they aren't that bad to where I'm needing to breathe through them or anything. Having bloody show but I also had a cervical exam so that's what I'm chalking it up to for now. FX his lungs will be mature if he does come early as I didn't get steroid shots this pregnancy.
Happy to say we had a really nice weekend. There was a family holiday party on DH's side Saturday night. During the day Saturday DH and I were able to squeeze in a date lunch and shopping for DD's Christmas gifts so it's a relief to have that out of the way. I think I scared another pregnant woman in Babies R Us because I was swaying back and forth through a couple of really annoying contractions at the register.
At the party, DD got to play with her older cousins who she looks up to so much. I think they'll grow up like sisters and I love that. I got to love on my 3 month old littlest cousin and about died holding him.
Yesterday morning we all went grocery shopping together. Usually DH and DD stay home but they came with me because lifting grocery bags and H2O is becoming more difficult for me to do on my own and I hate making one of the teenagers come help me. DD did well with it because we thought to let her "push" the cart herself by holding it and letting her put things in herself (even if a few were her selections). It's crazy seeing both car seats in the my car already!
Went and got our Christmas tree that we picked out Veteran's day weekend. DH is used to just having a tree up for the week before through New Years but I told him I'd prefer to do it most of the month for the kids. DD did not know what to think when DH cut the tree down.
Wasn't going to post all this until after my NST this afternoon but I'm up because I've been having extra pressure that's felt so strange and has woken me up a ton of times tonight. Haven't timed my contractions much all weekend because they're still just 9-6 minutes apart and only about half really hurt. Still having bloody show/losing plug every few bathroom trips too. LO wasn't moving like normal when I woke up a while ago so I'm up doing kick counts just to be sure. Having some pretty crampy contractions so I'm timing them to see. They're 6 to 8 minutes apart so far but I'm sure it's just the same old song and dance at this point.
In about 6 hours I'll be the most pregnant I'll have ever been!
Ooh! So exciting! I am defintely going to be stalking your llodge even more now! Sounds like things are gearing up![]()

Letting them "help" shop is a great way to keep them out of trouble. The few times I've been to TJ's I've been grateful for their kiddy shopping carts. T's never been all that difficult at the grocery store. She loves to run to the soap display at Whole Foods and smell ALL of the soaps.
What a cute tree!
I hope all these contractions are leading up to a super easy birth when the time comes!!
Glad shopping all together was easy! We let Kaylee help also. (: Keeps her distracted, she also gets to cross things off the list as we find them. Kinda like a scavenger hunt!
Love your tree! Those pictures are adorable.
Hoping all these contractions and pressure are your bodys way of prepping! (:
Still stalking (;
A little update from today.
I'm still having contractions a lot. I don't time them unless they get "active labor like". I had consistent, painful (4-6 pain scale) contractions every 6-7 minutes for three hours this morning in the middle of the night, but then they tapered back to 6-9 and I knew it'd die off again so I stopped timing them. NST went great as far as his accelerations. Did blood work for my bile salts (risk indicator to baby) and a LFT (how my body's doing) though unless either of those are extremely different, it won't change our management plan.
My MW said that my OB wants me to be comfortable with how we're doing things, so that if I really wanted the amnio on Thursday and induction Friday I could switch to that. She had a hard time knowing what advice to give as she wants me to be done with the pain/contractions/itching but with the odds stacked against us with the lung maturity it's hard to know where to go. I also have been leaking a ton and told her I didn't think it was my water, but she offered to check so I let her. That was fine and I'm a 2-3 so the contractions are doing something. Talked to DH and we decided we'll just keep things the way they are as there's a good chance I could go into labor on my own before the amnio mid day Friday and if not, that could easily push me over the edge. If I make it to the induction, my MW said I could probably just be induced with breaking my water or Pit and that miso shouldn't even be a question as it's ripe now so there's no need. If I had picked the Thurs/Friday option, my MW and OB would be unlikely to delivery (though they'd do all they could to do it) because they have office days (our hospital has 1 MW and 1 OB on call for a 24 hour period at l&d so you don't have to worry about them beign tied up at the office). If I go into labor via the amnio, I'm sure my OB would stay with me. The on call for the weekend isn't someone who knows me and while my MW said she's very nice (I've talked to her on the phone) she's the overly cautious type so I worry she'd think high risk = c/s. I know anyone who would be on call to deliver me on any day would be great, but it would be the icing on the cake to have my MW do it or OB.
I'm feeling better about our plan and just tell myself if we get to Monday there's no way his lungs will be immature. If he wants to come really early, I want it to be before 7:30 am tomorrow so my MW can deliver him as she's on call.
Thanks for reading the soap opera that is my pregnancy.![]()
Sounds like your body knows that it's nearing baby time! With luck you'll be in active labor soon without any measures being taken.![]()
Mia, I've been following your lodge. It sounds like you are doing a great job dealing with all the contractions and unknown stuff. I just wanted to let you know with DS2 my labor started (same as with DS1 but I was further along) with SROM and he was born perfectly healthy and able to breath on his own at 36 wks 5 days. I did not have any shots to mature his lungs either.
I hope if your little guy arrives in his own timing in the next few days that you have the same experience. I'll continue stalking your progress and hoping for his smooth arrival in the best timing.![]()
