I am sorry you all got sick. I got some type of flu two days before I went in to get induced with DD2 and it was miserable. The idea of going into labor while sick is not a fun one. Glad you are mostly better. Hope you continue to recover as well as DH and everyone is healthy when you really do go into labor.

    Thanks for the healthy wishes!!!

When talking to my midwife last night, asking her what the chances of labour going away and what things I could do to try and make it go away (LOL who does that after 37 weeks!), she suggested, water, rest and a glass of wine!

DH managed to find our last bottle of pink grapefruit wine (we make our own fruit wine that's about half strength), and I had a glass before falling asleep on the couch. I must say, it's the best sleep I'd had all day - combination wine and feeling better!

Personally, I'm still hoping for Sunday for birthday - though I have several votes for Aug 19 - and I think 19 is a great number (My birthday is June 19)!

Yeah - it was fun. When I was pregnant with Leo I was planning to get my belly painted or henna's - but it was quite expensive to hire someone who did it professionally (about $120 and that was cheap!). As it turned out, he was born early so it didn't happen!

Then at the Indian tent at the international festival, we walked in and there were 2 people doing Henna there, and one was just finishing up a beautiful one on someones forearm. I asked how much it would be to do my belly, and she had whole bunch of photos of different Hennas. She said about $30. Probably more expensive than other places, but I decided it was way cheaper than having someone come to our home! And then after walking around the festival all afternoon, (and there were sevearl other Henna places), I decided that the lady who did mine was the best there! Just lucked out! It was fun, too, since I'd normally have no one to show it to and would feel self-conscious!

I laugh about that too! The problem to me is mostly being pregnant I think. I spent some time in Louisiana and remember certain mornings where I had to have the heat and front defogger on full at 5am, and 39C! In other words, it was more than 100% humidity. Now I'm too hot at 25C and 70% humidity! OY! Must be the pregnant thing!

So glad you're feeling better and that the rest of the family is on the mend too! It's amazing what some good rest can do for you.

Went to the back-up midwife's place for an appointment today since I missed one with my midwife and she's now on holiday. I LOVED her. She's probably in her 30s, has a 10yr old daughter, and is quite "hands-off" compared to my midwife (which is nice). Anyway, it was a really great appointment. I'm still measuring 35wks, baby's heart rate was 130, and we didn't do a blood pressure or anything... Doesn't really matter to me, I wanted the appointment more so that we could meet each other prior to the birth - and she wanted the same thing, so that worked out great! We went through birth plans briefly (Are you OK with delayed cord clamping? - um... isn't that something I'm supposed to ask for? I liked her just for asking that way!). Now I'm hoping that I go into labour BEFORE my midwife comes back!!!

I'm glad you're feeling better! And yay for liking the back-up midwife so much!

I'm sure it is the pregnancy making you intolerant of the heat. I was the same way this last pregnancy. I wanted nothing to do with the heat. Actually, I'm still pretty annoyed with it now.

Well, this evening was quite productive - managed to get both cars cleaned out, which was probably about a year overdue! Actually, I manged to put both car seats in the back of our van, and realized that it's wider than the Echo back there despite the seat being between two wheel wells. This means that DSS could potentially sit there too, should he choose - because at practically 38 wks I could fit there a little snugly. Then I collapsed both captain's seats into the floor to be used when needed (takes about 10 seconds to put them up), and was repulsed by the amount of garbage, crackers, crumbs, and stuff all over. DH was the hero and actually hauled the vacuum to the van, and started with the leaf blower! Then we did the car too.

Ivy and Leo were helping out too - wiping down the steering wheel and doors...

Feels good to have clean vehicles!

And at the midwife's - Ivy declared that baby was definitely a girl!

Cool! I've always thought of it as Father's day, though I know I wasn't born on Father's day! DS1 was born on father's day!
