Great news on your appointment and I am happy that you like the back up midwife. I am the opposite...I met both the other midwives in the practice and didn't really care for either one. So I am praying that nothing happens for me until at least Monday as my midwife has been on vacation all week. She is finally coming home tomorrow and then I can relax and it can happen anytime after that.

Cleaning the cars out sounds like a great project! Glad you all got that done. I think I will do that this weekend. DH just barely cleaned my van but DS spilled crackers all over the middle back seat floor area so I need to sweep and vacuum for sure.

Sarah, I hope Skyler gets his wish and can be at home when baby arrives.

LOL! Today Ivy is saying "boy"!

SIL and BIL came over this afetrnoon and visited for a while. Dropped off a whole bunch of SIL's work clothes, some of which she's never worn! Some will likely even fit me, others a little small, but how do I know until a couple months down the road, and where on Earth am I going to put them?

Don't know what's going on with me, though. I've beenhaving some pretty painful contractions every hour or so (enough that I want to walk around a little)... Wish they'd either decide to be here or not! Either way would be fine, just pick one!

Hope things are going well this evening. I hope they either peeter out and let you get some sleep or ramp up full force. I can't wait for another Sarah birth story

What does DSS say the baby is? I love to hear what kids guess for the sex of their sibling! Especially kids that are young like Ivy and change their mind daily LOL!

DSS has been rather non-committal this time around. He started out saying it was going to be a girl because it has to be boy-girl-boy-girl. Then we pointed out that actually it's DH that "selects" the sex of the kid so really DSS is part of the equation and that would make it boy-boy-girl-boy-? . He then didn't know what his answer should be, but said he would prefer a boy. This was all part of a discussion in the MW's office and a little embarrassing and disconcerting for him considering he insisted that his best buddy come to the appt as well!

Anyway, I haven't asked for his official final guess... I think he's too afraid of being wrong since he's been right every time so far!

No baby yet! Yesterday was a busy day... at least it seemed like it. Once again had sporatic contractions throughout the day that were definitely noticeable, but not anything huge (nothing above my belly button or that stopped me). DH is feeling nervous to go anywhere. DSS is here now, and happy that he won't miss baby's birth.

This morning I was awakened at about 2am by a car alarm going off. Thought it was our van, but no... DH went out to unlock it. It kept going off for about 10 minutes, and then I went back to bed. 2 minutes later I remembered that our car had the windows down and was unlocked. I found my bathrobe and went to close it up, at which poiint I realized that Leo had turned on the 4-way flashers yesterday morning and the battery was dead. DH left this morning withough jumping it, so I hope I don't have to go anywhere!

Then at 4am I was again awakened, this time by a contraction! That was a mild surprise. For the next 2 hours I got up and walked aronud in the sunroom and stuff. Whenever I was up and moving, contractions were 2-5mins apart (but still not stop me in my tracks, but definitely "wake you up" type). If I sat down on my birth ball or couch, they slowed down to about 6-10 minutes apart. At 6am I decided to go lie down. Fell asleep, but woke up every half hour or so with another one... Then at 7:30 this morning, DH got up and went to work.

Hope these contractions are doing something!

Called my backup MW just to let her know what was going on.

Just a funny little scene from last night. DSS was wiping down the dinner table, and Ivy was standing on the other side. DSS (Skyler) says "I think it's going to be a boy if it's born before the 23rd". Ivy scowls and hits the table and snaps at him "No, it's a GIRL, Skyler! It's a GIRL!"

That's really funny that he was born on Father's Day. It's a sweet day to have a baby. I was born on Father's Day too after being 16 days overdue. My parents thought it was pretty funny that I chose that day to be born to say the least.

I hope your contractions are getting stronger! That's exciting! Keep on moving around.

Note to self: Do not put your phone (android) in you bathrobe pocket, then go to the bathroom.

Why? When I got up, my phone FELL IN THE TOILET!!!!

Curiously, I fished it out within about 1 second, took the protective otter case off it, dried it off, took all the outer cases off, battery and card too, and there was basically no water in/on it! I burried all the pieces in rice for about 3 hours, put it back together, and it works like a charm! Thank goodness - what a relief! I never really wanted the phone to begin with, so to have to replace it would be a real irritant!

Went to the park this morning... on the walk back I had some pretty good contractions that totally made me slow down walking. Now Leo is having a tantrum because he is too tired and needs a nap, while DSS has taken Ivy for a walk to the store and back.
