Ack! So yesterday a few of my new stretch marks starting itching. It's been itching worse and worse as today has gone along (I've done my best to not itch it though!) and now there are bumps along those stretch marks. PUPPS maybe?!?! Guess we'll see over time. I'll ask the MW about it Wednesday if it hasn't magically disappeared. *sigh* Isn't it more common in first time moms?!
And yes, I was nesting like crazy!!! Now? Not so much.
I know - why now?! DH says he hopes it's just new stretch marks being extra mean. Meanwhile it's really hard to do a track from hypnobabies at bedtime like I usually do when I can't get comfortable period because I'm itching!!! I actually started cursing the girl on the tracks as she said to make sure you're completely comfortable before beginning. We had a bunch of wind and rain last night that certainly wasn't helping me relax because I'm still not used to hearing rain after being here for 8 months. Still disturbs me!
Have you tried putting anything on it? I'd think if it was just stretch marks, a good rubdown with coconut oil or something like that would help, no? Anyway, I hope it goes away or you find something that helps soon! Is it any better in the shower? Can you try taking a bath?
I know exactly what you mean about hearing rain...crazy, isn't it?
Coconut oil is what I've been using on my tummy for a few weeks now. Bath didn't help yesterday (yeah, I totally took a bath with my son - tight squeeze! lol).
The bumps aren't as red today...maybe because I'm driving myself nuts to not itch them! lol
Just popping in here to say I love your nursery-super cute! We didn't end up using our nursery much for several months after Isabelle was born either, however I would sometimes go in there to nurse-it was the cleanest and nicest looking room in the house so it was relaxing to just rock and nurse her in a peaceful and not messy environment that didn't remind me of all the picking up I wasn't able to get to!
Boo to the itching, I hope your midwife has some helpful advice.
Good luck with the itching. I hope it gets better. I get restless leg syndrome when I'm pregnant, and I remember really struggling with the hypnobabies tracks when they would tell me to not move. I could convince my body not to move through the hypnosis, but mentally it was torture and I couldn't focus on my tracks because I NEEDED TO MOVE. So I would just add a little bit to the track myself (just in my head) but I gave myself permission to move if I really needed to. It helped a lot.
