I am working on spinning babies and have since I realized she was breech! I did a lot of the stuff with my son because he was breech up until 33/34ish weeks. I'm actually not quite sure what position she's in right now because she did shift around overnight and hasn't done much moving this morning. It really cracks me up how this far along I can't always find her head and butt where it was soooo obvious with Aiden by now!

That is good that you are doing spinning babies stuff to encourage her to turn. Which techniques are you using? I have been trying to do an inversion each night before bed and practice better posture when sitting to help Cricket get in a good position but I'm a total novice because Kostas didn't need any help positioning.

I'm so excited to have someone else from our birth board doing Hypnobabies too! That is awesome that your DH is taking it so seriously!

I'm doing inversions as often as DH is around and I'm not having horrible heartburn. Not as much as I'd like since the man works 12-14 hour days. I just can't get down without twisting without help. I'm sitting on a pillow now at home and not sitting on the couch anymore (back is lower than the front for the sitting part so not good!), so my hips remain elevated (both the MW and my placenta lady who's a doula recommended that to me). I'm also doing the side laying stretches from spinning babies. Zoe was often not centered when she was head down, so figured trying to evenly stretch out those pelvic muscles couldn't hurt one bit. And of course staying active during the day hoping the motion encourages her to flip! I think she's very nonchalantly turning. The kicks are slowly getting higher....slowly. lol

I hope hypnobabies works well for us both Shauna!

So today I drove over an hour to the area's VBAC/ICAN/homebirth monthly meeting. Met another mom who had a wonderful hospital experience with my practice! It was very relaxing to hear how well things went for her. I also met a mom who at 18 weeks still hasn't found a single practice who will take her for her VBA2C that accepts her insurance. I did get good information from her just in case I find myself in her situation one day (or even meet another mom in her situation!). There is an LC/homebirth mama that attends these meetings too who I got some interesting information from today. Basically, I'm more determined to make a VBAC work now however I have to do things (good info that reaffirms I'd rather UC than go to the local hospital unless I know I'm willing to go straight to the ER). She said she understands me not wanting to turn to moxibustion or webster just yet because she doesn't know of a single one in this area without me having to drive over an hour away - and with my toddler. But she does have information for me if I do get desperate enough in a couple of weeks. I talked to these ladies for 3 hours! With luck I won't be attending next month's meeting.

Yay for ICAN! I need to start going to some ICAN meetings, too.

Keep turning, Zoe! Head down is the way to be!

Wow, what a great resource! Sounds like you're doing all the right things, and with all that room she still seems to have, I'm sure Zoe will settle down in launch position for you...just hope it's sooner rather than later so you can relax about it!

Oh man, if there is one thing I know it's the stress of a breech baby! I did those knees on the couch, arms on the floor inversions when I was working on getting Z to flip. At some point it worked. My MW also said to me at one point, "Is there a reason your baby would want to stay near your heart now?" Just something to think about. Of course, that is a total "woo woo" thing- but, I had some talks with baby after that, and tried to "open up" my heart space, so that baby could feel the love even head down. That really makes me sound like a hippie... whatever.

I was just about an hour away from my care every time too. No worries.

Awww, I think that sound beautiful Mara! Though I am more than a little hippie I think

I'm sure Zoe will flip for you in time Jackie. Keep doing all your great spinning babies. That is awesome you were able to attend that meeting. I never had that much support during my first VBAC beyond my midwife and ladies here but a IRL group like that has got to be some awesome support. Also yay for DH being so supportive with hypnobabies and all.

I'm late to this - but welcome to your lodge Jackie!

Glad DH is on board with Hypnobabies! My DS flipped from breech to head down between 36 and 38 weeks so I hope Zoe does the same for you! I'd consider chiropractic in a week or two if she's still breech. Can you tell which way she's facing as well? Back labor sucks so bad (had with DS) so getting her facing the right direction makes a world of difference as well!

She keep going transverse to oblong during the day and then while I'm asleep at night goes back to breech. I feel like I'm starting all over every morning! I can tell which way she's facing once I figure out her position (there were a few hours yesterday where I was totally confused about her lol). In the past when she's head down she was very rarely posterior. Let's hope she keeps that up! lol.

    Mara, not too hippy-ish!

I just want her head down for my appt on Wednesday so I can avoid the negative "we might need to discuss a RCS." Normally they won't schedule a RCS unless requested. They usually try a foley at 42 weeks unless the mom wants a RCS at that point. THAT I'm okay with. RCS for her being breech? UGH. Feels like a VBAC fail.

I did have DH watch the first part of More Business of Being Born last night. Ina May at one point mentions that she learned German to be able to read their studies herself and after that DH decided he loved her.

    ^ So cute!

That's interesting that she is head down during the day and breech at night. I am having a similar problem, head down all day and then at the very least semi-transverse at night. I hope she stays head down for your appointment so you don't have to deal with that conversation!
