Is there any significance to his name? That last photo looks like he's trying to keep the flash out of his eyes, LOL!
David Letterman is retiring. Such great memories of watching him over the past thirty-two years!

We liked the name Henry and it was one of the few DH and I could agree on. His middle name is also my grandpa's middle name. I think he did squint his eyes because of the flash. It was so dark in our bedroom that not many of our pictures turned out (and those that did had far more nudity then I would show here.

Well I finally got my birth records and it was interesting to read. The timeline from my midwives read as follows

15:45 Midwife arrives to do initial assessment
    15:53 Cervical check 5cm 100% effaced -2 station
    16:45 Active labour established
17:15 Cervical check 7cm, 100% effaced -1 station (I don't remember this one at all!)
    17:45 Second midwife arrives
17:50 I request ARM, 9cm dilated, midwife ruptures membranes
    18:00 fully dilated, start pushing
    18:01 Henry is born
    18:09 birth of placenta

    Totals
    1st stage: 1h15min
    2nd stage: 1min
    3rd stage: 8min
    Total time 1h24min

It didn't feel that quick when I was in the middle of it! The time between AROM and pushing was excruciating, mostly because I was on my back. Once I moved onto my hands and knees things felt much better. I had no tears, just a few small grazes and no stitches.

Wow, so fast! I'd love to see my actual birth report and compare reality to my memories...how interesting.

    Love the pictures, TFS!!
