I agree that it's silly that she made you lay on your side straight off the bat. They only ever make me do that if LO is sleepy or not responding as well as they'd like. Did she not check on you during it? IMO a good nurse will pop in to see how you and baby are doing and see if you need anything.
I think Erin is spot on with the monitor placement and heart rate thing. I've had a couple of nurses put it higher and LO was still really low so it was just picking up the heartbeat from higher up. Glad your BP was good and that baby did great with the NST.![]()
I'm sorry you got such an unhelpful nurse, but glad the baby was doing well and your blood pressure is good. I agree with the others on the placement of the monitor and the heartbeat. If you were feeling hiccups down low, I'd say that's a pretty good indicator of where the baby's head is.
Every little thing IS getting you closer to having your baby!![]()
Had my 38 weeks appt today. Bp was awesome, no protein either!Measuring 42 weeks. Am 1-2 cm 50% effaced, at station -3. She wanted to induce this weekend but agreed to wait til tuesday. She's going to check me Monday and if no progress agreed to cervidil (said the asthma is a theoretical risk and has never seen anyone actually have a reaction so is agreeable to try, and i wouldnt have to stay in the hospital, just take it out if any asthma symptoms and return to hospital). YAY! I'm very happy with this plan! Just hope my labour decides to start on its own before then!
