That's what I was thinking too! LOL

Took Marek for another weight check yesterday at 12 days and weighed 8lbs 12oz. So in 11 days he's gained almost 1.5lbs! Woot! He's also grown half an inch in length. He is definitely a much longer baby than Kostas was, but Kostas was chubbier. So interesting to watch the similarities and differences emerge :)

We are almost 100% CDing already. It's much easier to CD a newborn than I thought and he skin is much happier in CD's too!

Kostas had a rough time transitioning to and from school yesterday :( Lots of tears. He was also exhausted too. He literally fell sound asleep in a chair in the Dr's office during Marek's appt. Today is going a better so far... We'll see what happens when I go to watch his Xmas performance and pick him up.

Aw, poor Kostas is going through a lot now. I bet he really misses the attention from your brother in particular. Christmas, a new brother, travel, his dog re-union...school performance, WOW I'd be tired too. I bet he's torn because he wants to be in both places at the same time! At least he can verbalize better than a 2 year old!

Way to grow Marek! I agree that Kostas has a lot going on for such a little guy. I hope he's doing better today! As hard as it can be for the older ones, I think that kids are really resilient. I love the fluff!

Christmas was good. It was a little exhausting though... Between all the things I had to do to make Xmas happen (cookies, food, wrapping etc) and then we ended up in the ER Xmas eve (at like 9pm no less) because Kostas was having trouble breathing :( Turned out he had Croup. He is finally not really coughing anymore but it has been a long week. Thankfully Marek is still healthy though! I was pretty worried about him getting it...

Marek has been super fussy today and I am exhausted... I don't know what is going on. I have cut coffee because that was making him gassy... normally he has no problem when I have dairy, the only thing I can think of is that I had straight milk yesterday vs cheese type dairy. Hopefully tomorrow is a better day.

What sweet Christmas pictures! It's amazing how much of a blur the holidays are with a newbie around. I'm so glad Kostas is doing better and that Marek was able to avoid catching it. I would have been a mess if the kids were sick like that.

I hope you're able to figure out the gas issue soon! It's hard going from a toddler who can communicate with you (to an extent) to such a little one who can't explain what's bothering them. :\ Have you been eating anything else that could have just made him gassy like beans, broccoli or asparagus?

Well its been a rough couple of days... Marek got congested and was barely sleep at all which of course meant I was barely sleeping at all. I was a zombie. I took him to the Dr and they said to keep him suctioned out and then showed me how to look for retractions in his belly to see if he was having more trouble breathing (he was already having small retractions while we were in the Dr office). Which of course stressed me way out! But he has been getting better and better. I'm starting to feel human again!

Also, I cut milk out of my diet and am keeping other dairy products as minimal as possible and I have definitely noticed a difference in his gassiness and he is much less fussy. So I am going to keep doing that for at least the next month. For my sanity, LOL.

Kostas definitely needed the 2 week Xmas break. His behavior has been much better. He is SUCH a sweet big brother! If Marek cries he is always trying to help him and talks so sweetly to him. He calls him "Baby Brother" too which just melts my heart!

Marek is 4 weeks old now and is over 10lbs! Woot! Here's some pictures from today :)

Wow, he has grown!! Amazing the transformation they go through in such short time!
I am sorry to hear he was congested, I hope he feels better each day. I would try hot mist humidifier ( I prefer those b/c they make the house cozier in winter). Also there is this saline nasal gel called Ayr Amazon.com: Ayr Saline Nasal Gel, With Soothing Aloe, 0.5-Ounce Tubes (Pack of 4): Health & Personal Care It really works.

It's sweet to hear about Kostas- he is such a sweetie!! Big smootches to him!!

I love the saline spray for ME, but for the little ones, the gel might be easier.
