Ooooh Shauna! So excited for you. Sounds very promising. I laughed about "You're getting close" since you're 39 weeks and 4 days. Going to be stalking you today.

Well they seemed to slow down when I went to bed but every time I got up to pee I had a decent pressure wave and also since I have gotten up they seem to be picking up where they left off last night. I'm glad I went to bed and got some sleep though. The less tired I am when birthing time arrives the better!

That's promising that things continue to happen despite getting rest. ITA that getting rest while you can is totally worth it!

I don't know what is going on LOL. Especially since I really had nothing going on before my water broke with Kostas. Things definitely seem to be progressing in the sense that the pressure waves are getting stronger when I have them but nothing is happening long term...

Oh well. I have my 40 week appt tomorrow. I really feel good and not too anxious still. It's more the people around who are getting all anxious that is getting to me a little. Apparently people at my mom's work (where I used to work so they know me) are even asking her if I'm in labor yet LOL

I hope your appointment goes great today! Funny how everyone around you is so concerned about your laboring and you're relaxed -- good way to be!

Just got caught up on your lodge I have to say the story about how you met your DH, and how your MIL treated you in the beggining, is very much like how DH and I met, and how my MIL treated me. Hoping she sees the error in her ways the way mine did, and that they respect your boundaries this time around.

Also, sending you ELVs and that things pick up soon. I went through the same stuff this time around, and can tell you it made for a much easier l&d, and was all worth it in the end

Thanks Kier! I agree, I hope my MIL gets some of the boundary stuff worked out this time.

    40 week appt

So my appt went great this morning. The midwife told me that I haven't had any protein in my urine since I got here (at 37 weeks) and my BP continues to be great. Baby's HR sounds great and I'm measuring at 39. She's predicting that baby is about 8/8.25 lbs right now which sounds great to me! Kostas was 8.5 lbs and I had no problem with him so I'm hoping Cricket will be at least close to what he is. Plus I'm a sucker for chubby babies

I was also very impressed when I found out that the c-section rate at the hospital I will be birthing at is 13-15% which is awesome compared to most (30-33%). We also talked about some relief strategies too and I just continue to be impressed with all the things they have on hand to help. Birthing balls, labor tub, birthing stool/chair etc.

She also looked over all my birthing and post birth wishes and was very impressed at how much I had educated myself and knew what I wanted and didn't want and reaffirmed that they completely matched up with what they typically do at their practice.

We also went ahead and scheduled my 41 week appt. She explained that if we get to that point that we would do a NST and all of what all it would entail. She didn't put any pressure on me about my official due date coming up tomorrow or even about reaching my 41 week appt next Tuesday.

It was a great appt. I am so glad to have 3 wonderful midwives to be working with for this birth!
