Still here, still pregnant. Today was my "official" due date and tomorrow (11/29) is my due date by ovulation. If I make to Friday that will be the most I have ever been pregnant.

We didn't end up making it to the Chinese place today, I'm pushing harder for tomorrow because, darn it, I really want Chinese! I also had pinched or pressed nerve feelings all down my left leg today and it was very uncomfortable and added to my crankiness. Not to mention Kostas had a ton of melt downs today. I'm hoping tomorrow is a better day...

My mom is getting tickets to the Nutcracker (its a really cute, funny version that the town puts on) for Saturday evening and if I'm still pregnant I am going to take Kostas and my 12 y/o sister to it and if I'm not then my mom will take them.

I'm feeling a lot more pressure for Cricket to make his arrival because my dad finally got the date for his kidney removal surgery, Dec 13th, which he will have to fly to Anchorage for so I really want him to be able to have some time with Cricket before he has to fly out for his surgery Ugh.

Anyway, not my sunshiny-est day but I'm hoping tomorrow will be better.

Hugs to you girl! You have a lot going on apart from Cricket's arrival. Our lives are all complicated unfortunately. Try to hold on to your main task now and focus on that. There will be plenty of time to be generous to others soon. Can you phone for Chinese take-out? Be good to yourself right now!

Shauna, I have had a few births like that. Some were easy to determine as to what is going on and some were long drawn out with pressure waves lasting for days or weeks. It was physically and emotionally exhausting. I also made many trips to L&D thinking "it must be it" because the PW were regular and getting stronger as long as I was on the move. So I usually kept moving as difficult as it was because I really wanted it to progress. I am sure all the PW are doing their job, they are getting your uterus ready for The DAY.
It was also humiliating to me because everyone expected me to know because I should be an "expert"....Nope. Each birth for me was completely unique, developed differently, progressed differently and felt different through the stages.
Well, the transition always felt similar and for all of my kids ( after the first one) the pushing was really quick .

What I am trying to say is: try to squeeze in as much relaxation, lazing around, favorite comfort foods in as you can. For now YOU are the pampered pregnant mama... as soon as you give birth, it will be all about Cricket and his needs.
Which is joyous but let's face it: also exhausting.
I hope you get your delicious Chinese food in!!

I hope today goes better for you and that you're able to enjoy the Chinese food you've been craving. It's got to be hard with the 14th on your mind, but you're in the home stretch! FX Cricket will be here by the weekend. The Nutcracker performance sounds like a lot of fun!

ETA: Asha makes a great point about the making time to relax when you can despite wanting to just push through everything. It will help you reserve some energy for the hardest parts of labor and can let you evaluate things better then when you have activity pushing things.

I finally got my Chinese food today!! It was very good. I've been continuing to spend time on my birthing ball and up and about. The pressure waves are really starting to get quite uncomfortable when I have them but nothing consistent. I feel like he is getting lower and lower though because I feel like my pubic bone is going to snap in half today and DH and DTD today and it was really uncomfortable for me, which a week ago it wasn't.

Asha- I agree, I feel like because this is my second that I should know what's going on but birth and the human body can be unpredictable! LOL

Kostas was very sad at the prospect of going to The Nutcracker without me so I can tell he would rather Cricket wait until after Saturday night LOL. Truth be told I would love to go with him too, its really a fun show and I would love to be there while he experiences it.

Time will tell. Last day of November tomorrow. We shall see if I am having a November baby or December baby.

((hugs)) All of these waves are doing a lot of good for you. With luck they'll end soon bc you've had your baby!

And ditto to sleep even if it means missing out.

    Almost time!!!

I'm glad you got your chinese food fix! It's so surreal that today is the last day of November! For the sake of progress, I'm glad to hear that the waves are getting more intense and that DTD wasn't that comfortable. I hope you're able to enjoy the show with Kostas on Saturday if little Cricket doesn't make an appearance today.
