Anyone see Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

I did, and I loved it!!!

I read once that JK Rowling gave an interview where she stated that she reviews the scripts before production to ensure that they do not cut anything out of the movie that is important to the series as a whole. That being said, I was SHOCKED that Dumbledor's howler to Petunia was not in the movie! I always assumed that the fact that Dumbledor and Petunia had been in contact was going to be important.

Also, although I'm sure it isn't important to the series, I was sad that Hermione and Ron being made prefects wasn't part of the movie, because my favorite part of the book is Dumbledor's line at the end when he explains to Harry why he wasn't selected for prefect.

I loved the interpretation of Azkaban, and I thought the actress that played Dolores Umbridge did an excellent job.

Anyone else see it?

I did see the movie, and really enjoyed it. I've not read past half of the third book, so I can't compare the two though.

I saw it last week and I really liked it a lot! However, I have to go see it again so that I can watch it without criticizing every difference in it!

I was also surprised about the lack of the howler. And I didn't like how they weren't consistant with the other movies. Harry should have just gotten a regular letter, not one that talked! Also, the dementors were different and the death eaters masks were different.

I was really disppointed that they used the Avada Kedavra curse on Sirius too. They could have been consistant with the book there.

Overall, I really liked it alot. I think the chose the perfect actresses for Luna and Dolores Umbridge! And you are right, the depiction of Azkaban was great!

It has been so long since I have read the book, that I couldn't remember to many details. I thought overall it was a good movie....but too dark. I like the comic relief I guess that the others movies had. I missed that, I understand that it isn't necessarily part of the book, but it made it more fun for me to watch. Does that make sense?

I am going to skim through the last two books to get ready!!!! I am soooo excited but I guess I have forgotten a lot.

I just remembered - they totally left out Snape's roll in the prophecy - how he overheard part of it and relayed it to Voldemort, which lead to the deaths of Harry's parents. I cannot believe that was left out of the movie - seems pretty important to me!

I haven't watched it yet....but my overall opinion of the movies compared to the books is poor. I feel that the movies are really more of a supplement to the books. I always get the feeling that if I hadn't read the books, that I would be lost watching the movies.

Don't get me wrong, I do still love watching the movies, but more because they bring me closer to Harry's world (and I love the wizarding world!) than because of the movie's plot.
