How is The Thirteenth Tale going? I'm about 100 pages in, and really starting to enjoy it
I picked it up again last night. Still slow for me but a little better. I think I just need to get into it further. I am not giving up!
Once Vida started telling her story to Margaret I really started enjoying it. Until then it was a tiny bit more wordy and descriptive than was necessary, IMO. Probably only because I was reading it right before bed, so my tired mind was having difficulty keeping up.
the website for the book is really neat
Cool I will have to check it out!
Hey, are we going to have a discussion on Promise not to tell? When is it if we are?
I have to schedule it. I guess I need to do a poll or post to find out when the best time to do a discussion is. Then I will need to contact Angelia and get us a room set up for the discussion. I'd rather not do it in an open room, just because it often leads to people coming in to chat about everything besides the book.
I know for me, a weekend night would work best -- like Friday or Saturday night. During the school week I'm no good after about 10 pm EST
Just let me know when. Friday night works best for me because we often are gone on Sat. Just give me a time. I will do my best to remember.
So let's say the last Friday in Feb., which will be the 29th
When is the best time? Much past 10 pm EST is a little late for starting, but I know that only makes it 7pm Pacific
We'll also do a discussion thread starting that Saturday, March 1, for anyone who can't make it, but would like to still be able to discuss it.
Before we decide anything definite I want to ask Chrissy (superbowlmama) to weigh in too. As far as I know we're the only one's who've read it.
I am fine with whatever is decided.
Hi thanks for filling me in on this thread. I am actually available on Friday the 29th! Let me know what time.
A family function has come up for Friday night so I won't be able to be on for the book discussion. Sorry for the short notice and sorry I won't be here!:(
I haven't been able to set anything up yet anyway Chrissy. I was trying to find out how my schedule was going to be this weekend too. I think my mom may be coming on Friday, and I have a House warming to attend on Sat. Should I try to set something up for the first Fri in March then?
That sounds great to me! Oh, BTW... I got through the first chapter- finally - of the thirteenth tale! Starting to get interested now. hmmmmmmmm;) Thanks for talking to me about it... that really did help me push forward. hehehe
I'll try to set us up for the first Friday in March -- Is 10 pm EST/7 pm PST ok for everyone?
Cindy, you will really love it. It was very good! I really looked so forward to my reading time with it, and often had to make myself stop to go to bed. BTW, totally random, but it was actually on Renaissance Place so I was able to AR test on it, and got the full 21 pts. for it. I now have 90.8 AR points for this 9 weeks!!
AWESOME! I am so excited about the books you just got too! Are you saving the extra for The HOST?
Well, that's the plan, except I'm probably going to have to run to Walmart or somewhere here and try to get it that day. I hate that our Walden's closed down. When you pre-order from somewhere like B&N, that means it gets shipped the day it comes out, right?

Usually... but sometimes it does not happen. I pre-ordered Harry potter but it never came. So I canceled the order after a few months of waiting.
