kindle 2 review

I've always loved books - loved to own them, loved the feel of the paper, etc. I had heard about electronic readers, but didn't think I was interested so I never looked into them. Dh hates clutter and is always complaining about my ever growing piles of books. That's why he surprised me with a Kindle for Mother's day.

Now that I've had about a week to play with it, I can honestly say that I love it. I don't miss holding a real book at all - totally didn't expect that. There are also a lot of cool features on it. I love the size. Very comfortable to hold and easy to take with you. Books are fairly inexpensive. Most bestsellers are $9.99. You can download free samples (first chapter or 2) for all books before you decide to buy. If you like the classics, you can find tons of them for free.

The only cons I've come across so far: I wish there was a better way to organize the titles (you can't make folders) and its too easy to buy books! Smile When you buy a book, its downloaded in less than 60 seconds directly to the kindle. So, you no longer have to find time to go to the bookstore, wait for an order to be shipped, or even wait for regular store hours. When I finished Vampire Academy, I was able to download Frostbite immediately and keep reading. I'm going to have to watch how much I'm spending each month because I can see how I could easily have an outrageous bill.

DH and I love our library and that the kids can go in and find a book to read and hold. I don't know if I could get into it...

So glad you are enjoying your Kindle! Sounds awesome, especially the download time!
