Anyone else as excited as I am about the August 24th release? DD and I can't wait!

I haven't read the other 2 so honestly, not so excited about this release. LOL
There is something about words. In expert hands, manipulated deftly, they take you prisoner. Wind themselves around your limbs like spider silk, and when you are so enthralled you cannot move, they pierce your skin, enter your blood, numb your thoughts. Inside you they work their magic. ~ The Thirteenth Tale
I started reading the first book in the series, and LOVE it! I work for Scholastic, and we're having a book release party Aug. 23rd...can't wait to get Mockingjay at 12:01 a.m.!

Laura, I'd definitely recommend the series. Fast paced, page turners!
Carolyn,
I didn't know you worked for Scholastic. I think that would be a fun job! Have fun at the release party!
Kayleigh read Hunger Games earlier in the year, and liked it so much she used her AR store points at school to "buy" Catching Fire. She raved about them so much that I had to read them, and I loved them too. We're both following the Facebook Mockingjay Official Page and 13 District Blog Tour
Be sure and swing back by and chat about it with us!
I finished Mockingjay a couple days ago.....incredible book! It broke my heart in so many places, but it was fabulous.

ok, ok, the series is now on my wish list. LOL![]()
I have not posted here in forever, but I have read here from time to time. I sort of disappeared during the last school year because I took on another .5 position (teaching Spanish) and things got a little busy.
Anyway! I wanted to respond to this thread...LOVE Hunger Games, Catching Fire and thoroughly enjoyed Mockingjay. So gratifying that the series never lost its momentum and kept a quality story going through all three books. I'm just bummed that there aren't more coming.
Oh, and I should add that my son and I had an on-going 'fight' over who got the book first. I let him have it first...seemed the 'grown-up' thing to do.
Peace,
Julie (who needs to add a new photo of my two youngest...now 3.5!)

I just finished it up this afternoon. I enjoyed it, and am sad that there will be no more. I'm pleased with how it played out though.
I think the series is definitely among my favorites now!
