Curious to see your thoughts on it,Cindy.
I decided to wait for it to come out on DVD as I don't like to be a sobbing mess in the theater. Even the trailer makes me teary, so ... yeah, DVD for me.
I did hear the ending is different from the book. I hate when they do that, but kind of hoping for the better.
at least for now I'm not planning on seeing it. Not only do I not want to be a sobbing mess in the theater, but I hate the fact that the ending was changed so I'm boycotting. LOL
There is something about words. In expert hands, manipulated deftly, they take you prisoner. Wind themselves around your limbs like spider silk, and when you are so enthralled you cannot move, they pierce your skin, enter your blood, numb your thoughts. Inside you they work their magic. ~ The Thirteenth Tale
So who has watched the movie? I did!
What was your reactions? For those wanting to wait until you can watch it in the comfort of your home due to sobbing - VERY WISE IDEA! I SOBBED uncontrollably. Very beautifully done!
What were your thoughts on the movie? They changed up the brother's story some... I don't think it was the best idea - but can see why they did it. His story seemed to get lost though and not make sense really.
They lost the guardian ad. but gained the mom's sister. EH - Did not impact one way or the other.
Family dynamics were done very well and followed the story nicely.
Yup - they changed the ending. So I bawled of coarse but I think the original ending really had an impact on the entire story like no other. I am pretty bummed about it, because the message from the original seemed to be lost. Yes, it was traumatic and sad and WOW - but the original was done that way to bring a new perspective on things. So even though I LOVED the movie... I think that I have mixed feelings because of what they did in the end.
Overall - are you glad or sad you watched it? I am so glad I saw it. Can I say WOW! Tug at my heart and just WOW. They did a fantastic job!
