    Book questionnaire

What are you reading right now? The Prophecies of Nostradamus, and Suze Orman

Do you have any idea what you’ll read when you’re done with that? Still thinking about it...Have a list of about 10 things that I can't decide.

What magazines do you have in your bathroom right now? Actually none...DH doesn't like having them sit in there...so you just have to take one in with you. But I have stacks of Cosmo and Parenting Magazine sitting in the room.

What’s the worst thing you were ever forced to read? Jim Cramer's "Mad Money"...although the Suze Orman book might rival it, haven't decided. I'm not a fan of financial books...but DH is. And once a month we each pick a book for the other to read, and those always happen to be what he chooses for me.

What’s the one book you always recommend to just about everyone? There are several actually. It normally depends on the vibe I get from them. The Harry Potter Series, Twilight, Dan Brown Novels...Just depends...also on what I'm into reading at that point.

Admit it, the librarians at your library know you on a first name basis, don’t they? Most of them! This being a large city it's pretty hard...but there are several who know me since I'm in there about the same 2-3 days each week.

Is there a book you absolutely love, but for some reason, people never think it sounds interesting, or maybe they read it and don’t like it at all? Any of the Paranormal/Preternatural books I read. I love them, but most people think I'm crazy. I get teased at work for them all the time.

Do you read books while you eat? While you bathe? While you watch movies or TV? While you listen to music? While you’re on the computer? While you’re having sex? While you’re driving? Yes to all of them (except maybe sex...but I've definitely ignored DH's attempts before to finish a book first!) ...even driving. Eek! But I only do it at stop lights! I promise!

When you were little, did other children tease you about your reading habits? All the time. I would leave my 4th grade reading class for the 7th grade one, so I really got teased about that.

What’s the last thing you stayed up half the night reading because it was so good you couldn’t put it down? Hm...Either Keri Arthur's "Deadly Desire" from the Riley Jenson Series, or Julie Andrew's "Home"

What are you reading right now? Ink Exchange & Shadow Kissed

Do you have any idea what you’ll read when you’re done with that? Probably The Shack

What magazines do you have in your bathroom right now? I don't have any in there right now. I do have our church newspaper though.

What’s the worst thing you were ever forced to read? Beach Road. I wasn't really forced, but she kept saying it would get better. It didn't.

What’s the one book you always recommend to just about everyone? Twilight

Admit it, the librarians at your library know you on a first name basis, don’t they? Nope. They don't like my family, so we hardly go. Luckily, I work at the school, so I have tons of books to read!

Is there a book you absolutely love, but for some reason, people never think it sounds interesting, or maybe they read it and don’t like it at all? Bamboo & Lace. I keep telling my sister to read it, but she won't.

What are you reading right now? Robert Jordan Wheel of Time (currently book 5)

Do you have any idea what you’ll read when you’re done with that?
Probably Ender in Exile by Orson Scott Card (so excited!). I have a whole slew of books to read though. (The Once and Future King, Persepolis, some book by Dean Koontz- giving him a try for the first time)

What magazines do you have in your bathroom right now? None! We don't get any magazines. DH brings books in with him, and I avoid staying in there any longer than needed.

What’s the worst thing you were ever forced to read? "Forced"? I don't know I'm ever forced to read anything, not even in school. The Brothers Karamazov was probably the hardest thing for me to read- a friend dared me (he in turn read Hunchback of NotreDame, which I love)

What’s the one book you always recommend to just about everyone? Ha! I'm opinionated, I have a billion. Screwtape Letters, The Little Prince, The Princess Bride

Admit it, the librarians at your library know you on a first name basis, don’t they? No, but the cashier at Waldenbooks does (I have a buying problem- my library here stinks!)

Is there a book you absolutely love, but for some reason, people never think it sounds interesting, or maybe they read it and don’t like it at all? Les Miserables is my all-time favorite, but the 1461 pages (including like 50+ on the battle of waterloo and another 30 or so on the history of the sewers of paris) can be a little daunting to some.

Do you read books while you eat? Yes! I have my "cold ceral books" (coffee table books) specifically for that purpose.
While you bathe? Nope too afraid of getting em wet
While you watch movies or TV? Generally not
While you listen to music? Usually not, unless my DH is playing somethinig
While you’re on the computer? Nope
While you’re having sex? Ha, no, though sometimes I read while... oh, nevermind
While you’re driving? I've been known to do this in really bad traffic jams.

When you were little, did other children tease you about your reading habits? Nope, but then I've always been friends with nerds.

What’s the last thing you stayed up half the night reading because it was so good you couldn’t put it down? Oooooh, hm. Each book in the twilight series has had that affect... I wouldn't say it's because they are "so good" (I don't think they are amazing by any means, there are definitely flaws) but they are page turners!

My Dh is reading an OSC book right now. OSC is one of the only authors he'll read. The last couple of nights we've been reading at bedtime, and he's even stayed up a bit past me to finish his chapters. This is such a new thing for us, because he is not a "reader" at all. I can count on one hand the times I've seen him pick up a book on his own accord in our 12.5 years of marriage He's reading Ender's Shadow.

What are you reading right now?
Rebel Angels by Libba Bray (#2 in the Gemma Doyle Trilogy)

Do you have any idea what you’ll read when you’re done with that?
The Sweet Far Thing by Libba Bray (#3 Gemma Doyle)

What magazines do you have in your bathroom right now? None, at the moment

What’s the worst thing you were ever forced to read?
I honestly can't think of anything, I'm sure it was something for a HS or college assignment though.

What’s the one book you always recommend to just about everyone?
It usually depends on the person. Twilight! There are a few books that I recommend to my students - The Giver, Wait Till Helen Comes, etc.

Admit it, the librarians at your library know you on a first name basis, don’t they? The children's librarian knows me, I'm not sure if by name, but we carry on conversations nearly every time I go into that section of the library. The older ladies at the desk probably have no clue who I am.

Is there a book you absolutely love, but for some reason, people never think it sounds interesting, or maybe they read it and don’t like it at all?
Not that I can think of, though when I recommend Twilight, I do keep getting a lot of comments like, "I'm not really into vampires." Haven't had anyone be disappointed with them yet.

Do you read books while you eat? While you bathe? While you watch movies or TV? While you listen to music? While you’re on the computer? While you’re having sex? While you’re driving?
    While I eat - yes
    Listen to music - yes
    Driving - yes, on audio
While I shower - yes, on audio
While I knit - (audio) The rest are No!

When you were little, did other children tease you about your reading habits?
No, not really. There was always a pretty equal balance of my interests, and many of my close friends were readers too!

What’s the last thing you stayed up half the night reading because it was so good you couldn’t put it down?
    Breaking Dawn, I think
